Cool Harley. What have you done to it so far?
PS: I just came back from a couple week vacation in Margate NJ where there is a giant, six story high elephant named Lucy. It's an example of "zoomorphic architecture"; i.e., buildings that look like animals. See below. I'm sure your Harley is more fun than a giant elephant building.

Another shot on the trailer. Purchased from a friend. He had to leave it out side. Cept it covered but moisture still got to it. As he purchased another bike it wasnt ridden much the last couple years. Last year though he did replace the rear tire and bearings.
Issues to start were it needs a lot of cleaning and one fork was leaking. Strapping it down all the oil leaked out of the one fork. Front tire had good tread but was cracking.
He named the bike Lucy because it has enough power to get a way from you. Supprised me a bit as he is a avid biker. Told him I wouldnt change the name.

First move was to order a battery. Selected a Braille battery. It s about 5lbs lighter and a bit smaller than the original style more power and sealed no leak no fumes. Think this is the only model Harley that has the battery mounted under the seat.
While waiting for it to show started cleaning and pollishing. Object was do what could be done without taking things appart unless something needed repair then go off on it.
So pollished side covers, chrome, wheels etc. Treated the leather with saddle soap. Emptied the old fuel out. Prievious owner only put 50 some miles on it the previous year after installing the rear tire. Ordered a Harley offical repair manual (60.00 not impressed with it at all). Never worked on a Harley before and found this to be a one of a kind rare model. Listed as a 86 FXRS SP lowrider SE. It was a new frame, trans, engine. Was not built on the assembly as it wouldnt fit existing fixtures. So it was hand built.

Nice Nostalgic looking Bike, Turbo. FWIW, we used to preserve our expensive show saddles with Transmission Fluid. It worked better than the expensive Lexol leather preservative too. You gonna keep it pretty much stock?

Not realy planning on changing the bike much. Like lower it etc. Going to improve some things clean it up do some paint work replace a lot of worn out and or old parts. Performance wise its been bored .020 over a EV-27 cam and a CV 40mm from a newer model. Has a Screaming Eagle ignition and charging system. Might change to a Crane single fire ignition. Last I knew they were waiting on parts to make some up.
Exhaust another issue. The ouwer my friend bought it from gutted the pipes. Then got in trouble for the loudness. He then welded some washers in them. Not crazy about the loudness and have given thought about 2 into 1 pipes with quiet option. Also found out no one realy lists pipes for this bike similar to a Dyna but different mounting.
Hmmm trany fluid on leather
