Your headers look awesome! The engine looks really nice. I like those valve covers too. Your welding skills are very nice!Ryan

Things have been slowly coming together.
Drivers side header just lacks the O2 Sensor bung and V bang. Passenger side needs to be welded up at the flange and collector.

Passenger Header ready to be welded at the flange and collector. Starter fought me for space!
Called the guys at ridetech and they hooked me up with a custom built shock with the correct valving for the straight axle.
Got time to drill the holes for the Climate control bulkhead
Started on A/C lines also... This is going to be interesting.

Beautiful work! But wait a minute there man............... Back the bus up................. I spy a beautiful blue 69 Buick GS convertible in the back round there. What's the story on that? I have my Dad's old one and someday it's going to get restored.Ryan

Wow, I was way off. I just saw the body line and side marker light and assumed it was a Buick. That's too bad to hear about the engine. Hopefully he gets it finished up for ya!Ryan

Some progress has finally been made. I hauled my Tig from home out to the shop so I could have a machine dedicated to my build to knock out the few things I needed to get done.
Exterior A/C SS hardlines and rubber are 100% complete. The SS Hardlines for the heater hoses are also complete.
Gates Powergrip SB Clamps are awesome BTW
Headers are 100% done and will be dropped off for coating on Friday.
Exhaust is about 95% complete as of the end of today. I have to turn a spud on the lathe in the morning to recess weld into the frame so the hanger is bolted in with a single 3/8th bolt. FYI it does tuck up further than the pictures depict. I did not have the hangers set in the pictures.
.125" Stainless sheet worked well for my hanger.
And the big brown truck dropped this off today.... VHX 32 Ford gauge kit!!!!

Beautiful work on the exhaust.
Can I ask for some specs on your "wheel mounts" for lack of a better term.. I've been considering building something along those lines. How much height do they give you? How much lumber was used? Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

Awesome welding! The A/C lines look great. Those Gates powergrip sp fasteners, are they plastic and you heat them to crimp?Ryan

they are simple "2x4"s so each layer gives you 1.5" of lift. They are cut in 17.5" sections and there is 3 sections per layer. I use extra 2x4s to use as spacers so it comes out to be a 17.5x17.5 square. The top is 5 sections to give to a flat solid platform. I used 2.5" deck screws to hold it all together. I have had a H1 Alpha on them without issue. Hell your house is built with em and holds up a lot more weight. On the sides to act as stops I used a 2x6 so you can get several screws per side to make sure they stay put.
Oh! and I call them " Poor Mans Lift" LOL.

I've used them before on heavy trucks and they can be a real PITA to get off in tight areas. They do work well though.Ryan

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
