Well today i got the water hose back and installed and no leaks.. great.. put the front inter fender back on and did some tweaking to the carb. and timing getting it to idle a little smoother.. Also installed something that now i won't worry about so much when i leave my car in a hotel parking lot over night and wake up the next morning hoping it'll be there or if i'll every see it again... if you would like to see what it is go to Arrow Track | GPS Tracking System from Eclipse Engineering and take a look... to many cars go missing and never seen again...You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.

Wow, you have done an awesome job on it! That pinstriping is very nice too! I am thinking of going hoodless on my 40 now but i've had my reservations with all the handsy folks in parking lots like you said.Ryan

An alternative that I used is a little Garmin unit with a "Tracker" application on the phone and laptop - https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/digital...prod67686.html User defined "Geo Fence Areas" that can be set up in a minute or two, with e-mail notification if the car exits the "fence". It's about 1.75" X 3", used for tracking everything from dogs to backpacks to hot rods. I used a hidden lighter socket power cord to keep it powered 24/7 with a very low (miliamp) drain. Works for me... but hasn't been "tested" yet and I hope it never is!!!Last edited by rspears; 10-24-2013 at 10:45 AM.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Thats great Roger, anything to help get your car back or best of all give you peace of mind while it's not in your site.. This one cost a little more but for all that it does just made me feel a little safer.. I've had a friend get his '56 nomad ripped off last year just after getting it completed and it wasn't a good feeling and it wasn't even mine... state farm forked over 6 figures for that one... And like you hope i never have to test it out..You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.

Well it seems like for every that i've posted a picture of something getting done. After spending three day color sanding and rubbing we got the doors and deck lid on the coupe today.. just one more thing to check off the list..You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.

I hadn't considered thieves, concerning an open hood.
I suppose security fasteners would help. Would make maintenance a little troublesome..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Wow alright and yes please thankyou, we do need photos of the car with the bonnet and side panels on it too. Hood is what you fellas call it but we on the remote islands call them bonnets for some unknown reason. I do admire the tyre wheel choice and especially the rear tyres and how they fit the rear of the body line so closely. It is those details that really make a car outstanding.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Thanks a lot Ryan, still got somethings to do and if you guys know anything about getting a specially constructed vehicle to the point so you can the registration done so you can get a license plate on it here in Calif. you have to jump though some hoops… Had to meet with the CHP so they could put a VIN number on it, go and have a brake and light insp. done, and meeting with the smog referee on Thur. to get a smog certification on it so i'll never have to have a smog check done again… so far i've put out about $2300 in taxes and fees.. welcome to the world of hot rodding in Calif.. On a more up beat note the guy who is doing the interior came by tonight and we talked about getting it in his shop by the end of the month… up dated coming….You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.

I'm in Mass and this state used CA for their model, both for emmisions and titling/registrations. Getting the VIN was a bit worrisome at times but the real hassle was getting the title resolved. Seems the title division wanted things one way and the registrar wanted things a different way. So I got stuck in the middle with a car that I was able to register but couldn't get an inspection sticker as the computer program they use would lock out the inspector as soon as the title number was entered.
Took about 4 months before they resolved their issues and all's well now. Best part for me was I get through before the new rules came into effect so it's exempt from emmisions and won't need the oem certifications.
I'm looking forward to your interior updates, if it's half as nice as the rest of the build, it'll be one sweet ride!
Merry Christmas ya'll
