I think I missed this the other day.

A tiny bit of progress, been scratching for jobs while waiting for bits to arrive, i've been searching for a Y block thermostat housing but nothing turned up yet, solution was to make one

Started with some aluminium off cuts & couple of hours later I had a housing.

The honest answer Ryan is I don't know, I just do a bit here and a bit there, I don't bother to keep a check.

The mandrel bends I had been waiting for turned up yesterday so last night I could get the headers finished
I started to complete the drivers side but then realised the bends were slightly smaller in OD for some reason, I managed to use one to finish this header but the others are gonna have to go back and be replaced as it gives a step to the welded joint
I also checked the length of the primaries and found them all to be within 1/2" of each other, result !!!

I decided I couldn't wait for the bends to be replaced so built up with weld and sanded the joins, no one will ever know
It actually wasn't raining today so bolted them on for a looksee, also took a pic of the steering box fitted.

Looking good on the exhaust Steve. Been meaning to ask for awhile now, is left hand drive cars easy to register for the road over there ? We have to have all new builds right hand drive over here and I believe that any new imported vehicle has to be converted to right hand drive.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Been an exhausting day today (pun intended) started building the exhaust system, system is 2" stainless steel, mufflers are 2" Smithys 22" long, they were a little long for the space available so the inlets & outlets were shortened and fitted with 3 bolt flanges.

Great work. Do you just buy multiple stainless bends and keep them on hand? Or do you have a tubing bender. Sure looks great sir!

Being a Hotrod shop Ryan I keep all sizes of mandrel bends on the shelf, very handy when doing my own stuff. A bender to turn out perfect mandrel bends would be financially out of the question.

Not sure what the prices are like in the US Ryan but I pay £6 ($9) for a 316L stainless 2" 90 degree bend, mild steel are only slightly cheaper so I never bother with them.

Yep you can buy a lot of $9 pre bends for $7k There is a shop (muffler) in the next town that I get a lot of pipes bent from a lot cheaper than buying the machine.

I do a lot of 3"-5" and it is by far cheaper just buying the bends and making it. I need to brush up my tig skills and use stainless on my 40. Don't hold your breath dudes.
