Thanks.
I found that its not the 20's that limited my tire choice it was going with a 12 inch wide 20 that did. If I would a have went with a 20x10 I would have went with a 295/45/20 or even a 305/50/20 and had the sidewall I wanted and not had that stretch tire look that I hate. But with a 12 inch wide 20 your choices are limited to 325 and up to not have a stretch tire look, the problem is all the 325 and up I've seen come in a 25 or 30 series which gives you a lower side wall. The tire I'm running is 335/30/20 and they were not expensive at all but I would have liked a 40's series a lot more.
By the way the tire I would have liked for a 20x10 in the same brand I bought for my 20x12's would be only 150 each.Last edited by BAM55; 03-29-2019 at 09:43 AM.

Wheels look great. I agree with you that a little taller sidewalls look better, not a fan of the rubber band look tires.

Good on you for having an idea of where you want to end up and understanding what you have to do to get there. Shows throughout the project, this is just the latest example. I get a tad frustrated when someone comes on a site like this and asks a question like, "what's the best size tire for the back of my 1940 Whizbang sedan?" No idea of what their design goals are, no info on fender clearances, offsets, any of the other important info....as if there's some magic one size fits all formula out there for modified vehicles. Looks good , something as simple as wheels can make-or-break how a vehicle looks.Seth

Thanks man,
Yeah I will have to live with that tire for a little while, but at least I know what I want when the time comes.
Thanks man, I research everything and measure and check fitment 24 times before I fabricate or buy something. I'm nutty that way.lol
Yes it does, it can also break the bank account.lolMy Chevy Truck Project

Bam, I've been following this thread with great interest and have told you before that it's a great job.
I don't remember you mentioning the bench seat. Is it from another truck, or is it a great upholstery job on the original?
I've got a '57 Chevy P/U project on hold while I finish a couple of other projects but I like planning ahead.
I've noticed the price on new aftermarket bucket seats gettin a bit lower but I'm inclined to leave it bench seat.

Thanks man I really appreciate it. About the seat, its a 1988-1995 Chevy Truck beach seat with arm rest. I wanted that seat since I started the project but I could not find one in my area. I saw one of my online buddy's at a car show and told him I could not find the seat that was in his truck in my area and he told me he would find me one and ship it to me at cost. Networking really works.

Hey Bam nice job! I just went back to the beginning you've done a ton of stuff in a short period of time. I was wondering if you have a few more shots of the bench seat, showing the arm rest, and maybe a width measurement? Thinking of maybe getting one for my 48 Ford. Thanks" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Here is a pic of the seat. I chop down the mounts because I have a big back window truck and its my pet peeve to see the seats sticking up through the back window of the truck. If I had a standard cab (small window) I probably would have not chop the mounts.
I will get the width for you later but it fits well in my truck.
Here is a pic of my neighbors 49 Ford Truck that he change the grill on. He has a Camaro Clip, Corvette IRS, and 351 Cleveland.
