    That’s not column bracket that is a Lokor cable shifter for the trans . The column is really sturdy because I installed a set screw in the pipe and the column drop has a set screw also

    Dang it, I should have known that! I have the same lokar shift cable shifter on my 72. I will try to remember the set screw idea. That is a good idea!

    Thanks man and I feel the same that in a lot of cases less is more. When things look to busy it looks like the builder did not think it through. Thats why that swivel ball was bothering the hell out of me.lol
