Bob, my first car was a '39 Ford tudor sedan. My dad & I built it when I was 14. Drove it till my Jr. year in college when a frat party combined with alchohol & acceleration caused it to wrap around a tree! Argh!! Fortunately, I emerged relatively unscathed. Some of its salvageable parts live on in my current '37. All that to say, I don't need another '39!!

Yes, I've never stopped counting my blessings for being able walk away from this one .....this is also the one that shows me that seatbelts aren't always the safest option. If I had been wearing one.....well, you see where the roof is.. I was tossed to the passenger side in the midst of the roll. My head cracked the passenger door glass but that's way better than what would have happened if I was strapped into the drivers seat....
Anyway, didn't mean to hijack your thread. I'm loving the new car along with all the other ones! Will be fun to see what you do with it!!!"It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

I mentioned to Randy above that the '39 sedan was for sale to make room for the other stuff. The "live wire" showed up as scheduled.......with his wife......and she proceeded to nip at his butt about how much other money he was spending on building his new shop...............that didn't bode well. Not to worry though, another fellow from down near Sacramento had been in touch with me from a couple weeks back. It was one of those "as soon as I sell............." deals, so I didn't hold much success for that. But, mid last week he wrote again to say escrow was closing on the sale that week and he wanted to drive up to look at the car. He and a buddy left yesterday morning and came bye last night, looked it over and went to their motel to "sleep on it". This morning he showed up with money and a U-haul trailer and away the old girl went, back to California. Surprisingly I felt a moment of melancholy as she was towed away...........she'd served me well last summer. She wasn't the prettiest thing, but had charm by the boat load (sounds like the description of a blind date with a buddies sister!!). Anyway, now I'll be able to have some better order to the garage, all is good.
Fortunately I took some time last week to take a "family portrait" of the toy cars that were currently on the ranch before the '39 departed.Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 04-14-2015 at 03:15 PM.

Yeah, that should be coming home about the first of the month and takes about the same space as the '39. Once the metal work and a few other little things are done on the '32 sedan there will be just enough room left for that one, but that probably won't be til the end of summer or so.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

If your wife has a friend that annoys you don't tell your wife to stop being friends with her. Just casually mention how pretty she is... .
