Some Indian motorcycle teardrop lenses might look good..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

More nice work sir! That's good to hear you didn't lose much at all. Those storms get crazy quick. I never realized how bad they were until we hauled campers down to Katrina. A year later we hauled more down and got caught in a hurricane. It wasn't near the size of Katrina, but bad enough when you're trying to get in and out.Ryan

Just my humble opinion.. (and we all know what opinions are like right? Yep they all stink!) but those headlights are just so... "in your face". no pun intended.. I think the lights in the horns are the only ones with a good "fit". They are there but don't detract from the overall look.
Hey! You asked so I answered. It's the only part of the build that made me pause and even the engine cover didn't trip that trigger!

Thanks for your input. If you have any concerns that I can't take a critique, take a look at one of the first responses that I got on this thread
"Well welcome to the site and please take this whatever way you wish, but you have put your project out there for all to see and comment on.
What the heck are you thinking putting the front axle and wheel way out in front od the VW cab ? You are not only chopping the hell out of it, you are removing what leg room there was in it,(the cab). Wouldn't it looked better with a IFS set up with the cab set up like original over the front wheels ? You could still have the mid mounted engine etc and especially as you mention in the video that you will have the original rear tray built to look sort of standard.
I just think you have started with a cool idea but got completely lost when it came to the front and where the cab should be. I believe you are going to create a bloody ugly mismatched bodied vehicle.
Of course this is just my opinion and it is your vehicle to build the way you want. I just think there is too much ugly coming from the modern car designers now without adding to the mix by taking a cool VW truck and F..King it."
So regarding the hood...is the pause due to the fact that no hot rod should have a hood

I remember that first post when it was new...
And I love all of your "rides" - you have a great imagination and know how to make it all come together.
I was merely struggling with someplace to blend in the headlights you've chosen. I knew you could handle the critique, unless I caught you on a "bad day" kind of thing. I just hated to complain and offer something more constructive.
But thanks for listening!

While the transmission is out for a rebuild I am making a few improvements. Adding a second radiator for highway driving in the summer and some duct work to push the radiator heat out thru the hood instead of into the engine compartment.

Also swapping out the melted motor mounts since I have replaced the headers with a better design

Bent up some aluminized exhaust tubing to route one radiator to the other

Started wrapping it in heat wrap as the tubing runs along the back wall of the cab

Second radiator is in.

Also drilled holes in the side scoop and sheet metal to allow the heat to escape. There is a block off plate inside the scoop between the air intake (front) and the radiator exhaust area so that cool air goes thru the trans cooler and is then sucked back out as it is pushed thru the radiator
