Mom's 29 Sport Coupe
Mom bought this the year I was born while stationed in California at Camp Pendleton. It drove but was not very pretty. We got transferred to the East coast and the car was dropped off for restoration. We picked it up in 76 and brought it back to Oceanside where dad retired from the Marine Corps. I tried to get the car running while in high school but the original A engine was rusted tight. Several years later I grabbed the car and got it running and road worthy in time for mom to enjoy it. Bout ten years ago it was left for me in their will. I tried to enjoy the car as a model A, but after the motor let go I decided to build the hotrod I had threaten to build out of her car when I was growing up.
It's a project I work on when I have the time. Jury is still out on what to use for a grille/radiator. Going to keep the rumble seat. Fuel in chassis.....Last edited by Ecam; 09-20-2015 at 04:31 PM.

By the way, had to have my daughter post the pictures. At least she could figure it out.

I like it! Old school plus family tradition is hard to beat. Is that a SB Ford motor? (I should know, but Ford motors are not in my wheelhouse) Keep us updated, please.Jack

When we were kids yelling "Mommie's car" at someone was a slap. In this case it's way at the other end of the spectrum...........great story. Ford in a Ford should make some folks very happy. Looks like good progress so far...........keep the dream alive.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Cool old car, and a great story. Looking forward to hearing more as the project moves forward.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

My first attempt at making headers. Relearning how to TIG. Had to break out the MIG a couple times to fill some holes. Have muffler inserts and turn outs to quiet it down some. The engine is a 351w. Bought on the cheap. Has almost no ridge. I plan on a low buck ring and bearing job, cam and perhaps some aftermarket aluminum heads. Once the car is sorted out, I may build the engine. I hope to include some sway bars and enter a SCCA autocross class that is geared for Muscle cars and hot rods. The CAM class tends to be a good group that just wants to have fun and not be overly competitive.

Looks pretty slick.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Started building a dash for the A. Needed the dash to fold down for access to brake and clutch master cylinders. Also wanted to add a glove box. Made a card board template of available room measuring 12 x 6 inches. Was loading up a bag of tools to take with me to a pull it yourself yard when I noticed an ammo can in the garage. Picture two's can is in the fitting stage. The can is now mounted but stays in place when the dash folds down. I built a lip (dam) at the leading edge of can to keep things in place when dash is not there.
