1947 Chrysler New Yorker four door sedan
Well I guess I'll start with a little back history of the car. I live in Cassville Missouri it's down by the Missouri Arkansas border. I saw Chrissy the Chrysler on Craigslist and she was up in Topeka Kansas. I saw the picturesAnd immediately knew I wanted her, her body lines were great the slanted trunk the suicide doors in the back and the long front end. It was a 400 mile round-trip, so I got a U-Haul trailer and brought her home. She has been sitting for the past 40 years in the farmers barn so needless to say she's gonna need just about everything. But that's okay I'm not building or for resale I'm building her for me and to keep my butt off the couch. I plan on updating a few things but I want to keep the look original as I can. So with that said I'm going to post some pictures I hope and we can all go from there. The BUCKSTER

We bounced between Noel and Southwest City as I was growing up, so I know Cassville. Thanks for posting the pictures. It's good to see the Chrysler being brought back.Roger

Nice project! Man what a long front end. It'd be a good candidate for a heavy fuel sipping oil burner.Ryan

Thank you guys for all the positive feedback , I really appreciate it . Right now I'm just kind of waiting for the guy to pull the motor out his car that I'm buying . It's one of those things where he has to take care of his regular customers before he has time to work on his car, which right now is okay with me it gives me more time to save more money so maybe he can rebuild my front end at the same time. Going to try to post some more pictures with this post so I hope it comes out. Thanks again for all the support. The BUCKSTER

The above pictures first shows the original motor that was in it. That's exactly what it look like when I bought it. the head have been off for at least 20 years so the motor was pretty well froze and beyond repair . The next two pictures are of the steering box that I was trying to go smaller with or eliminate altogether by going rack and Pinion . The last picture is of the motor I'm going with. But before it goes in mine again it will have a complete cosmetic makeover. It will have a complete cleanup and lots of chrome, that motor is well worth the wait .The BUCKSTER

Looks great; always nice to see another old 40's Mopar being saved. Too bad that straight 8 was junk, I always thought one of those would be cool to have.1 Corinthians 1:27

Good morning falconvan ; yeah on those straight eights I heard they were pretty good dependable old engines, I did manage to sell the transmission to a gentleman in Oregon so at least part of her will live on . He's putting it in a 1946 Chrysler New Yorker two door sedan. He sent me some pictures of it and it looks like that will be a pretty cool build to. The BUCKSTER

The old straight 8 might not be scrap metal to someone really wanting to revive it. Not saying its what you should do, but saw one really tricked out at Hot August Nights last week - wicked long block.Roger

Those old low-compression motors are just begging for a turbocharger or two.
