99 Mustang GT Build
Hello Everyone. I picked up this 99 Mustang GT a while back as a roller. I stuck it in the corner of my shop with all kinds of future plans. Recently I found a full drive train out of a low mileage wrecked 2004 Mustang (4.6L engine, 5 speed manual trans and rear end) so I purchased it and it inspired me to start building this Mustang as a daily driver. Attached are a few pics of what I am starting with. Nothing fancy just a little fun with an inexpensive to build car.

Wheel Pics
While a bit early I ordered my wheels and tires. I ordered IFS Mach 1 style rims. 17x9 front and 17 x 10.5 rear. The back will have rear tires are 315/35/17. Looks nice and wide under the rear. A few pics attached.Don Jr.

Pulled the engine top end apart to find it very clean inside.
I put a new Ford Racing intake manifold on (He cracked the old one pulling the engine out) :-(
JBA ceramic coated headers and Trick Flow valve covers to dress it up a bit.IMG_3526.JPGengine 4.JPGphoto 4.JPGIMG_3533.JPGengine 2.JPGDon Jr.

Hi Don Jr. good to see you back posting. I have been reading through your Dad's thread on the $3000.00 or under T Roadster and enjoying reading all the going ons of your family and animals etc. so have been missing Don senior's input here. I take it that you have your own workshop space handy to home now as I can't see any of Pop's or Dan's projects in the workshop. I will be following along on this journey of updating the wild pony so let the fun begin.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Very nice! A good friend of mine put together a 4.6 for his 92 Stang and it runs pretty darn good. I'm surprised more people aren't using the SOHC versions of the 4.6 in their builds; they're really reasonably priced and make great power for such a small cube V8.1 Corinthians 1:27

Times 10! Good to see your handle popup.. I caught your reply to Falconvan and didn't yet realize that you had started a build thread.
Anyway, it's great to see you here and thanks for the pics.. tell Pops we said hello!

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Hey Whiplash, Mike, Falconvan, 34_40, rspears and Bob,
Missed being here too. I recently got my Used Car Dealers license here in Florida and have been devoting way too much time to that instead of fun and working on my own projects! I do have my own shop right next door to Dan and Dad. Problem is you will fill up the space regardless of how much you have! Looking forward to getting the Mustang going and getting my hot rod juices flowing again :-)
I am exited about this SOHC 4.6 project too. They are cheap and plentiful and seem well built. They look really cool with the valve covers off with those cams staring at you. Rated at 260 HP and with headers, exhaust and gears should move this Mustang respectfully enough. Looking for a cruiser that I can get caught in the rain in. :-) The T Bucket is no fun in the rain. Will post more pics as I get some progress done. Thanks for the warm welcome! I will tell Pops and Dan that everyone said hello!Last edited by Mr Blue; 08-11-2015 at 08:34 AM.

Like everyone else said, welcome back. The mustang looks to be cosmetically excellent. With the new motor and tranny should be a lot of fun, and a good dependable daily driver. looking foward to seeing this one progress." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Hey Stovens,
Thanks, yes the Mustang has no rust and the body is good. It is an automatic car right now but I got the 5 speed manual trans and pedal assembly from the wrecked 2004 so it will be a stick soon!
40FordDeluxe- Thanks, yes it looks better. Funny there are not a lot of valve cover choices for this SOHC 4.6 but the trick flow ones are nice and super heavy built. Most of this engine gets hidden with wires and hoses anyhow but you know we have to dress it up a bit :-)Don Jr.
