I'm pre-registered, but am also hobbling a bit with a hip & knee that are giving me fits. Spent four hours today between the doc and the outpatient center at a hospital trying to rule out bad stuff. Not sure I'm gonna go if I'm tethered to a chair.....Roger

We went with Roger when we were over in the States a year or three back.
It was the biggest and the best car show I've ever attended in my life.
There was something for everyone, no matter what your taste in machinery; from a BMW Isetta to dragsters, from wild customs to faithful restorations.
I loved it!
But...if it's going to be fine (which I hope it is,) take a hat with a wide brim.
I came away pink and peeling!
And I spent my working life working outside in the sun!johnboy

Drove down for a while today and saw Matt sitting by his '37. I didn't walk around the grounds much, as my gimpy leg is still giving me fits - diagnosed as a Baker's Cyst behind the right knee. Made the show kind of a boring outing, glued to a chair so only hung around about three hours and headed home. I didn't get a number, but there were LOTS of cars & trucks there!! A buddy rode along with me, and he walked the grounds and took a ton of pictures. I'll see if I can get a link to his files in a few days.Roger

I cuaght a glimpse of you Roger, I went around the park several times and never did find you, but you where right ALOT of cars, they had 1900+ preregistered I heard. I am guessing you left before my trips around as my buddy with the '62 vette had his alternator go out on the way over, I saw him driving without headlights before sunrise and wondered what happened. Its a iceberg style GM 1 wire, he went and purchased a new one at the vendor tent and it didn't fit so I called a buddy 60 miles away and had him text me a pic of his motor I put in years ago in a '57 Chevy, I saw he had the same alternator and had it relayed over after he took it off. The one that went out was brand new Powermaster and I suspect it has a brush stuck.
To make a long story short after that (and we wanted to leave before we needed headlights) I lost my keys and walked the grounds trying to find them, my daughter insisted I left them with Eddie Munster (Butch Patrick) who was there selling autographs (had to purchase) but Eddie hadn't seen them, after a bunch of praying I had the kids dig in the dumpster we threw our trash in and they where there, got caught up in line for a hour before heading home. Gotta say great weekednd thoough, and Eddie Munster was a class act and so nice to my kids! After all the fiasco's I never hardly got a picture taken! I look forward to next years, we arrived before 7:00 am and the front row was pretty much taken since there was a bunch of mud from rain previously, I asked a buddy who got a prime spot and he said he was there at 5 am and wasn't near first as the guy next to him was 4:30 and there where already some there, so the question is how early is early!!Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower

Matt,
I was parked back behind the main shelter where you registered, and the tent where they had t-shirts, etc. As you said, the wet grounds made it challenging. I pulled in a couple of places, thinking I was going to be able to get into the back row areas, only to run into slimy mud 4" deep which would have been nasty with open wheels.
Did you happen to see either of these two coupes in your walk around the grounds?
They are from New Mexico, and these pictures were from last year - mom & dad in the flamed black coupe, and son in the lime green. Nice folks, and they had told me they were coming up this year but I didn't see them, and my buddy that wandered around taking tons of pictures said he didn't recall them either.
Never mind - just got a reply to a text message saying they were indeed there, saying 'Sorry we missed you...' Another time.Last edited by rspears; 09-18-2016 at 11:37 AM.

While sitting in the shade the DJ announced that he was going to suspend his music & other constant noise over the PA, so that Dennis Gage of the My Classic Car show could have some quiet time to interview some car owners. Not sure when it will air, but at some point in the coming months you'll be able to visit the Ol' Marais River Run on My Classic Car!!Roger

Roger, Funny thing, I only took 3 photos of cars there, and two are of the ones you have above, since my next build is a blown 33-34 so I went over them pretty well, I talked with both guys as well and they were very helpfull as well, Quite a bit has to change however for the motor I am using, but still these are my "Cup of tea!"

Yes I saw Dennis Gage also, can't say he was oevrwhelmingly friendly as it was clear what ever he was doing didn't envolve what we think of as hot rods, my buddy yelled hi at him and he acted like he didn't even care to look at who yelled his name and he raised his hand and continued on his way in his golf cart, like I mentioned Butch Patrick was a class act however. Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower

Amazing! The owners of those cars are Eric (green) and Dave Shine from Tucumcari, NM. They have a shop there doing custom fab work. Great guys.Roger
