Got the covers pretty well finished besides some sanding and a little filler in some spots. I'm going to paint all three pieces green unless you guys convince me otherwise.Seth

Seth: I like fabbing your own!
How about black with green pin
striping to tie it in?

I'm with Rich on that (hey, he and I have similar tastes, what would you expect). Instead of pin striping though I'd have a "Thriftmaster" logo done in the original script from the original engine...............just my bit of whimsy at work........Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

I like both Idea's, I shared my vision of a green intake and coil covers to my wife and she pulled up her nose at it and said it'll be too much green. We talked about the pinstripe design and it went from that to painting them charcoal to match the rims with green pin striping . I'll put the Round Chevrolet horn button i shared with you guys in the middle of the intake using green for the lettering and striping on it. I like the Thriftmaster idea but the stickers only come in yellow and that would make it a John DeereHowever if I'm going to make new decal the with a good matching color what do you think of the idea of it saying Thriftmaster 5.3 vs Thriftmaster 235 ?

Nice work Seth! Here's a thought. Buy some cheap billet grills off ebay that are flat. For say, maybe 1 from a 1991 Bronco? Cut the grill to your cover size, and bend it to follow your contour. Paint the covers green like you said, then put the billet grill section on top. Maybe secure them with a couple studs or bolts through the cover in between the ribs. Then you have a finned valve cover now.Ryan

I think coil cover is what their called although I've called them cover cover's quite a bit already as wellLet's not do the 348 thing, I'm happy that ship has sailed!
My Nephew makes vinyl stickers so I think I'll have him make these in the correct color and motor size. I made a new intake cover that hangs a bit lower and I think they'll look good on the sides of that. Or the cover covers

Put a little filler on the valve covers today, probably going to be the only coat. I don't think these are going to have to be perfect.Seth

For a moment I thought it read "thirst master".
Funny that..

Haha, if it was the 348 that would be very appropriate.Seth

Got some paint on the valve covers, for now we went with charcoal gray to match the wheels. I also got the air box mostly done but I'm still waiting for my Chevrolet emblem for the intake cover so I haven't done much with that yet.Seth
