Haha, if it was the 348 that would be very appropriate.

Got some paint on the valve covers, for now we went with charcoal gray to match the wheels. I also got the air box mostly done but I'm still waiting for my Chevrolet emblem for the intake cover so I haven't done much with that yet.

Seth, here is a cool cover a guy on another forum I'm on posted. He got a radio flyer model 40 kids wheel barrow and trimmed it to fit. It looks pretty sweet IMO. Here's one I found on ebay if you're interested in one.

Thanks for the idea. Another reason i haven't finished up the intake cover is im not 100 % sure it flows right. It doesnt look as bulky in person as in the pics but i may eant to work with it a bit.

That should go well with the green I did change it a bit after looking at the orange one, I think this should work. We're thinking about putting Rita and the front of the intake cover and Thriftmaster 5.3 on the sides, or possibly the valve covers.

I got some paint on them, I'm trying to convince my wife to paint them Chevy Orange but she's not biting. We're not matching clothes, I'm just trying to be proper I'm also spending a lot of time re routing wires and hiding them. It was kind of a mess in some spots because it was crunch time to go last year.

I'm liking the coil covers you made. My old engine has perimeter bolt valve covers and since they were only used for a couple years, there is really nothing commercially available. I will eventually have to do what you did.

Your LS has perimeter bolts? I never knew they made them but I just did a google search to take a look. It really didn't go to bad, I got a Saturday into making them and getting them mounted.

Yeah, my original plan was to change the heads out to better later model parts with center bolt valve covers. I would have relocated the coils and used finned aluminum valve covers. Then I stumbled across another set of perimeter heads that had been CNC ported. The hotrodder in me couldn't resist buying the ported heads, so I was back to the older style valve covers.

I finally moved over to the gas tank to figure out what I'm going to do for sure for the fuel pump sump. I bit the bullet and went ahead and welded an 8 inch bowl to the bottom of the tank, that will be best. I'm waiting to cap it off till I get my sending unit back from Speed Hut so I can weld the retaining nuts in the right place on the inside of the tank instead of squeezing my arm through the fuel pump hole to start them. When it's all welded up I'm going to take some light sheet metal and cover the bottom side of the tank so it will look good from behind vs a weird circle sticking out. It's getting to be crunch time, the goal is to take Rita out this weekend
