Dressed up Rita's engine compartment a bit today. I took the old Thriftmaster 235 sticker they used on the 54 Chevys and went in a different route with it. He made the stickers maybe a little bit larger than I thought they would be but I still like it.Seth

I finally broke down and pulled Rita's doors off to put the outside door seal in. I googled how to properly use weather stripping glue, when you do it the right way you better be ready cuz once you stick it ,you're done, it ain't coming back off again! Hmmmm. There is supposed to be pictures attached, I'll figure that out later.Last edited by 53 Chevy5; 08-27-2019 at 11:32 AM.

That should add ( or is that remove?) another level of sound / noise from the cab. I can never seem to wait enough for the cement to tack over 'cause I want to be able to move the seal for proper placement. It rarely comes out well for me so I end up doing small stretches and it takes way to much time causing me frustration and so I always put this part off for far to long. Looks like you did a great job!

Thanks, I did a lot of taping so I could smooth the glue around and not get it all over everything. I'm kind of curious how much it will help. I have a good inner door seal and I had my wife tape up the door gaps with masking tape and I took it for a ride at about 75 miles an hour before I installed outer seals. I can't say that it was day and night different, but I think it was better. maybe tonight I'll get to take it for a ride with the seals in it and see if it's betterSeth

Nice, I need to do that on my 48. New seals have been sitting in the box for about 2 years.1 Corinthians 1:27

Got the seals in and drove it down the road, but of course it happened to be dead calm outside tonight. I took it up to about 90 mph to try to mimic a 30 mph headwind and I think it's better, not day and night better but still worth the time. The doors seem much more solid on the our gravel road washboards which is nice, and I decided to try to take care of some linkage rattles too. How do you like my Dollar General $1 fix I put the red sicky pads were on there earlier to space out the door panel so it would not rub the Altman door handle linkage.Seth
