53 Is back from the Body Shop
KJ.jpg Here it is , after so much color searching it isn't as dark as we thought it would be, but my wife loves it. Now, so much to put together I don't even know where to start. Tonight I started with siting on my roller chair and having a beer while staring at it.

My neighbors at the old place used to laugh at me as I wheeled a project out into the drive and then would roll around in my "thinkin'" chair looking at it from all directions.

Just shown the picture of your truck to my Mum and like your wife, she loves the colour too. I chuckled too with the story of just sitting with beer in hand taking it in, priceless.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Tomorrow I'll start with coffee and go after the steering and brakes, possibly windows. I think the color is a girl thing, not to bad for me to drive though. Next vehicle on the list is a 71 RS Camaro, I think I will paint that one Black to counter this one.

I just read the story of the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro LZ1 and how super rare they are with the aluminium engine big block weighing approximately the same as a small block. Now wouldn't one of those be a treasure to own. I wouldn't say the green is a girlie colour as I like bright and different colours from the normal mix one would see at a car show.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

"Thinkin'" chairs are a very necessary item in any shed/workshop.
The son of a young couple (and a pretty good kid,) that used to work for us would very often come across to my shed while I was "thinkin'" and start up some inane childish chatter. And the whole train of thought was gone.
He just couldn't understand why he was told to go away today when yesterday he was welcome.
"Busy? But you're not doing anything!"
Oh yes I am Ethan.
I'm sittin'.
And lookin'.
And thinkin'.

Got the windshield in today, actually twice. Put in in once then realized the chrome strip had to go in first so we popped em out and did it again.I have to find the windshield center pieces yet, I know they aren't far away. I Put the cowl air vent in which ended up with me putting the first chip in the new paint. Apparently the factory fit on the flip up vent is as good as the factory fit on the doors, which was awful . I got some of the brake bracket stuff in and then we hung the doors which went really well. Forgot to mention that I did much semi gloss black painting this morning before I could do anything. You would think that I would have been smart enough to have them painted by now.

Looking very nice! That's the worst part with fresh paint to me is putting that first scratch/chip in it. It still hurts but takes the edge off a little.Ryan

The neighbors will never see you coming..... Beautiful !!!!!
Sometimes one has to sit back, smell the roses, ponder thoughts, and proceed forward. Can't wait to see it decked out.

Good to see you back Agent Blue as I noted that you joined the family back in 2011 but have only posted six times so it must be you sitting back in the dark corner of the shed on your pondering chair quietly listening to us noisy buggers tell tall stories. You will have to speak up if you want another cold refreshment from the garage fridge.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

I must be getting old, the first chip really didn't even bother me that much as this will be a daily driver and I don't think it will be the last chip it gets, although it will get touched up right away.
I don't think it will be any secret who is coming down the road, Perhaps I should have capitalized on the time my wife wanted it painted silver LOL. But truthfully, the color is really growing on me and I am really starting to like it.
I got some hush mat and a new inside firewall cover today, along with the rest of the window seals and new 54 style wiper arms and blades, I am sensing a drain on the wallet for awhile.

Had my first chance to work on the 53 this week so I thought I would put the rear windows in. It sure is nice putting on parts I've had laying around for years. I took a shot of the door gaps, gotta say I'm real happy on how they turned out. There was a lot of frustrated time into getting those things good.

It's growing on me too. It just needed some trim to offset the green. Minor as it may be, even the black window sesls help.
Are you going to put a little "Hulk" sticker on it somewhere?.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Ditto great job on the gaps and very nice progress! Black detailing will go well with that color just like it did on the early 70's Dodges!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
