650 hp Turbo LS Datsun 510 Wagon Build
I am helping my neighbor with his first engine swap. He has a 71 Datsun 510 Wagon that is in decent shape. Today we put the engine and trans together and started fitting it in the car. It actually fits fairly well. We are going to cut a bit of the firewall and trans tunnel and relocate it back a few inches.

Worked on the neighbors Datsun for a couple of hours today. We got the engine in place and bolted up to the crossmember.

The big 4L80 automatic fits well.

Currently making a change to the rack/pinion mount for oil pan clearance. Once finished, we will re-install the front suspension, roll it on a trailer and take it to my shop to build a trans crossmember and trans tunnel.

Are ya going to have to drop it to change the plugs?
(Sarcasm alert).
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Moving one of the rack mounts was an easy fix. The crossmember will bolt in now with proper oil pan clearance.
