I vaguely remember them, I believe they were a gutless wonder similar to the Pontiac Astra and Chevrolet Vega. My mother in law had a Pontiac Astra, Weird little car just a rebadged Vega. It had a little Holley 2 barrel unlike any 2 barrel I'd worked on. Sort of like a 4 barrel cut in half. I believe a good 10 speed bicycle could beat it out of the hole.

As I remember my first exposure to them was working in the Chrysler Plymouth dealership around 70 or 71. Saw a brochure as I recall (the bosses were smart enough NOT to order any for the showroom ). I think my reaction was just WHY?

Hillman imported and rebadged as the Cricket, wasn't it? Maybe 2 years?

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

    Thanks Uncle Bob.
    The Hillman Avenger!
That's what we knew them as.
Yes, they were horrible little things.
    And no...I never owned one.
For the main part our daily drivers were at least 6 cylinder machines, as they had to be capable of being able to pull a loaded trailer.
