I'm with you on that.
I too went over to the HAMB site for a look.
Crikey!
She's Oldsmobubble Cutlass wasn't as rough as that and yet we scrapped it.
But you've got to admire the bloke's skills, tenacity, and just pure balls for tackling a job of that scale.
Good on him; and good luck to him.
What he's accomplished is incredible.johnboy

Just a piece at a time. I didn't see the whole thread but he sure put some nice effort in.
Beats me why he's using rusty steel for the patches though..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

The sheet he was using for the patches got rained on for a few days. I can relate.Ryan

I got the drivers side rocker tacked in, made a repair piece for the rear wheel opening and got a decent start on the other rear corner today. I’ve got the first week of January off work; I hope to have all the patching on the body done and the welds ground down by the end of that week so I can start on the doors.1 Corinthians 1:27

These old vans are pretty cool! Have you seen the one that Foose built on Overhaulin?

The Wheeler Dealer guys built one, too but left the patina on it...

I'm going to be painting the inside of the van since I'm going to do a color change. Anyone know if there is any kind of primer I can use that doesn't have to be wet sanded before top coating that will look decent? The thought of trying to wet sand the entire inside of this thing sounds pretty painful.1 Corinthians 1:27

The other spring mount was in much better shape; just cleaned up the surface rust, hit it with some POR-15; and made a new backing plate section to tie it all together.1 Corinthians 1:27

Thanks, Randy; I’ll check into that.
I got the other corner on; now I need to patch the floor on this side and make a tail pan. Then all I have left is one small area to patch by the side doors.1 Corinthians 1:27
