I like it, is that a glass car too ? I love the feeling of dropping a car off at a body shop. I hate it when the bill comes though.Last edited by 53 Chevy5; 02-12-2018 at 08:29 PM.

IMG_2420.jpgIMG_2422.jpgIMG_2424.jpgThey made a lot of progress on the car this week. I have been laid up in the hospital but the guys really moved forward on the fiberglass, repairing holes, building mismatched edges and glassing seams.

Old Age combination of arthritis and torn ligament or some of the tendons in my knee. Result was severe pain. Finally got mostly over it today. I think the guys do better when I am not around to change my mind

121 Rod & Restoration sent some updates today. The doors are molded in two pieces then joined together. For my car there was a very significant weakness at the top seam. Instead of a good bond using glass, the seam was bonded with only resin. Being hard to get to. Tom decided to go across the top of the door and lay a couple of glass layers to strengthen it structurally. Also, the nose cone was askew or warped. We decided that it will need to be split, narrowed and reassembled. I noticed they sent pics of the front fenders being worked on as well.IMG_2432.jpgIMG_2438.jpgIMG_2439.jpg

Glad they found that on your doors before finishing, I have done a good deal of glassing and enjoy it, looking at the above pics it appears to me that there is a good deal of air between the layer of cloth and the glass underneath... Gonna be a nice car though. Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower

You can see the discolored stripe that runs the length of the door. There is a line right down the middle. That is where the two panels separated. The lighter grayish matter is not air, it is resin left in the initial layup. He couldn't grind that off because the plastic was too thin along that seam. He is trying to catch enough to lay it down and build a structural base. There will be several more layers

That's good, cause air is not your friend with glass! I have seen a bunch of issues before on glass bodies, good ones are a blessing, and problems can be a curse! I just ordered a new 33-34 coupe on Friday! Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower
Thank you Roger. .
