Seems like a guy has to choose between rust or melted plastic. I hear you on the new stuff not fitting, most stuff is awful. When I started gathering a few parts for that car I found a very cheap OER dash for sale, but he wouldn't ship it because the buyer had to come in person and see for themselves how poorly it fit. The used one I put in there is a bit sticky but It is a good start for a dash cap. I'm going to be in Des Moines Aug 3 but it's going to be a drive down there, take care of some business and drive back type of day. One of these time I'm going to have to stop by and see if the Camaro remembers meLast edited by 53 Chevy5; 07-25-2018 at 09:32 PM.

Four words of advice:
Rust belt donor car..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Even rust belt 70-73 Camaros are bringing $2500-$5500. Sometimes higher if it is a Z/28. Parts for these are getting nutso too. Nice original dash pads are bringing $450. Window moldings are $100 per set. I should have kept a couple rusty ones I was tired of looking at!Ryan

Same story different month. The Camaro isn't running or driving yet but I have been putting in work on it. My goal is to get it running and make it drivable before the white stuff flies. I doubt I get it to a finished stage before winter. I have some other projects that need finished and the 40 Ford needs stuck together this winter. So if this at least runs and drives and the interior is back in it before November, I'm calling it a win.
I got the engine bay and front half of the floor primed and painted. I did find a good way to use up the old speedway catalogs I had laying around. Good thing the tape was free too. The 5.3/Super T-10 are mated together and in the car now. Finally got the heater/ac delete plate installed and even put SS hardware on it. I have been going to the local you pull it to acquire the correct hardware I was missing. I got the F-body dip stick modified and installed. I cleaned and painted the exhaust manifolds, put on the plug wires, and replaced the old wiper motor assembly. I even got the window trim parts I was missing and got a pair of sport mirrors for it. Now to get the wire harness done. Currently I'm making a bracket to locate the z bar because the one on the 621 bell housing is too far back.

I guess that's what happens when you do multiple projects at the same time, then there's the kids.. oh and the family in general.. and the honey-do list... then there's the Xmas gifts deal.. then there's the house maintenance thing too!
Did I miss any?...
(Just pokin' the bear.. ol' buddy ol' pal o'mine!)
How much did Santa have to pay for his sleigh? Nothing! It's on the house! .
