Coolest Truck
Was out at the shop watching them work on my 33 Ford and discovered they have taken on a 1928 Chevrolet Dump truck. This truck spent its entire life in a California Gold Mining Camp. It is missing a door but is otherwise still working. The original 2.5 4 cylinder was replaced with an in line 6 but Kory already has an original 2.5 replacement. Enjoy

What an old work horse, they sure don't make em like they used too. Can you imagine the pretty trucks of today being around 90 years from now?

LoL they discovered that while the truck was mostly a 1928 Chevrolet, the body is a 1929 Dodge Brothers

That is straight off the Walton's! (OK, that was a 29).
Way cool..

So how did it dump?
It's pre-hydraulic obviously, (that was late forties/early fifties era,) so is it cam and roller, Archimedes' screw, or a mixture of both?johnboy

I was told it was hydraulic. Since it has a later model engine in it and a 1929 Dodge body I would assume they must have changed the dump assembly out. I've learned more about the truck from you guys than the guy that bought it knew.

It's a "Chevrolet Dump Truck" with a '29 Dodge body and a later model in-line six engine and a plywood(?) platform seat that was from a working gold mine? I would be surprised if the dump mechanism had NOT been modified to be hydraulic at some point in the 90+ year timeline for that old beast!
It's got some "attitude", and is KEWL!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

BTW
The "Walton's" truck is worth a small mint, because of the acclaim from the series. If the truck were cloned out to match : $$ $$.
