".........Hmmmmmmm, Whatever will I do now???........"
Well my first thought when I saw all the Dodges was an extended cab then I realized the body line of the door would probably be a problem.
I was as responding to this thread today and thought.... you know Seth could just put a proper motor in one

Extending the cab was something I thought of too, but like you said the body line on the front of the door throws a monkey wrench into it. If you got an early hemi for me, I could put it in one of these dodges and have it sold tomorrow. The dad of the guy who does my metal working in town had a 48 with a hemi in it. He wants to find another one with a three window cab and a hemi. I know where to get the pickup, but I don't know where to get the motorSeth

Heck Seth, Google is your friend! All it takes is a hefty checkbook!! Early Hemi Engines
Call Scott Sehr over in Sioux Falls and see if he's got a Hemi block tucked away in his stash. He might surprise you!!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Good read on the hemi------ I'm down to just one 392 and am thinking of building it and a couple other type engines to just change out occasionly from a 33-34 ------paint and upholstery are too expensive (plus license, title, insurance) and having all 3 of them----------By popular opinions-just a grumpy old man key board bully--But really, if you are going to ask for help on an internet site, at least answer questions about what you are asking about-----

I did the stocker thing once, and it was neat and all but at the end of the day, it's not that much fun to drive for me, that's why I sold it so quickly. One will get the Dakota which I will keep, then I'm hoping to find a 12 valve 4X4 to swap on the other one with my 9 ft box. Some Dodge guy will eat that up $$ ( Dodge people are weird)Seth

Here's a couple of them with the look I'm going after. I edited one grill to be a little closer to what I want, both are a little different but close for an idea, I like the steelies better. On a side not which rear fenders do you prefer, to me it doesn't matter a lot, maybe like the small ones a little better. They started using the big ones in 1953, I'll probably use the ones that are in better shape.Last edited by 53 Chevy5; 07-27-2021 at 08:45 PM.

Yeah, that old flat six will run like a Singer sewing machine but don't plan on getting anywhere fast.1 Corinthians 1:27

I didn't realize how long its been since I've updated this. The former owner of the 48 got to see it again at the Granite Threshing Bee in Granite Ia the end of July. He came down from Sioux Falls to check it out, we were so busy talking I never thought of getting a pic of him with the pickup, still kicking myself for that one! We loaded it up with family and took it through the parade and people loved it! I did end up selling it to a 24 yr old kid from Missouri who is crazy into these things. He is restoring one just like it his grandpa had, he's got it painted now and it looks amazing. I asked him about this one and he said he's going to leave it as is because it's so nice and so original. The last pick is him loading it up and taking it home. While the kid was taking it for a test drive his dad told me he was glad to pick it up today, he was sick of hearing his boy talk about it I was sure glad to see it go to a good home. Also glad to make some money on it and not have to babysit it anymoreSeth

That is a great looking old truck.
