Thread: Kitchen Remodel

Yes, the under cabinet lights are great when preparing food. We also put lights above the cabinets and put plastic tiles on the ceiling to cover the old cracked plaster. The only light in the kitchen that isn't LED is the bulb in the oven, so when they're all on it's only pulling about 150 watts.
Sorry for hijacking your thread; I'll shut up now...Jim

Wow! That turned out very nice! Mine is wired for under counter lights but I'm going to put that one off for a while. I'm getting tired of it 🙂Seth

Thanks Seth. I used LED light bars that I bought at Home Depot. They come in different lengths and can be linked end-to-end. They aren't real expensive and come with the hardware to mount them. I used them on top and underneath.Jim

Very nice work Seth and Jim! I'm hoping I don't have to do ours in this house. It was supposed to be a 5yr deal and we're past that. LMAO!Ryan

Haven't had much to post lately but after taking the summer off, we finally got the kitchen just about wrapped up. Only a little bit of base board trim to do and the trim around one door which may be on hold till we remodel the porch/bathroom. This was a stupid big project but I'm glad it's done, Kari said when the kitchen is done, I can go work on one of my Dodges. Bragging rights go out the first person that can find Rita in the kitchen!Last edited by 53 Chevy5; 01-06-2021 at 06:31 PM.

I nearly forgot about the counter top, we had a local guy make us one out of Black Walnut. The place is called Live Edge and they took two slabs and put them together like you see with the black epoxy river and the a clear epoxy top. They did a really nice job.Seth

Gotta love live edge black walnut! I've got ~450 board feet on the drying rack right now, mostly 5/4 thick, but a few 10/4.Roger
