I know it would not be the same, but would it have been easier to fix up the donor car?

    Wowzer Zowzer!

After chop, chop, chop comes "weld, weld, weld - oh snap - hammer, hammer, hammer - oh snap, chop, chop, chop......" you get the picture.

What a great post - love following these in-depth projects that always take a life of their own. I reminded of a Johnny Cash song, "One Piece at a Time"

There’s definitely some subtle differences in the quarters and the rear panel but I think it’s going to work out. I like the 73 tail light panel much better.

I actually suggested that but he felt then it wouldn’t be “grandpa’s car” anymore. I get it; it’s a sentimental thing.

Looks great! Lots of tedious work but it's well worth it when it's all done! Keep us updated, love the old Grand Prix!

Starting on side 2. Also started sanding the fiberglass filler off the roof where the landau top was and it ain’t pretty. Luckily the roof section from the parts car is a good donor.
Also here’s a picture of Andrew’s mom and grandpa before he stopped driving the car several years ago.
