What MOS do you plan to shoot for?

something to do with mechanics maybe heavy diesel mechanic. but ive got a while to go on the weight so i have plenty of time to consider mos's

Weight? Pfft, I weight 115 pounds soaking wet, they don't care. Heck they didn't even care about putting me in an airborne unit.
As for mechanics, think about that real hard, if you join and you go to Iraq, you will be sitting back working on the Hummers and junk that everyone gets to take out and tear up from having fun.

do yourself a favor , start running , from what i hear basic is NOTHING like it used to be you know with the kinder gentler society we live in now and all , but im sure you will at least do a bit of jogging! D.I.'s used to really have a fondness for the big boys..

Yeah he's right you will do fine. Hell they are even allowing cell phones at basic now. They will seriously put about 10-20 pounds on you by the time you graduate basic and AIT. Keep shut, do what your supposed to do and your fine. They actually HELP you to pass basic, they wont just let you sit down or give up, they will push you along and pretty much make you pass which is a good thing.

Ohhhhh.... The overweight guys have trouble but get through it. Guess you have to take it at your own pace.

I am a hot rod ,classic,exotic car builder who owns my own facility. I work 100 hrs a week turning nasty rusted metal into things of beauty and love every second of it.

I dont see many custom shops anymore doing old restos and exotics. Seems like they are starting to shut down around here. I remember in California there were heaps of them and if I needed something I would take a 30-45 minute drive and find anything I needed. Over here it's different. How are you doing with business? I am guessing good enough if your still going right?

I have 2 jobs, 1st is whatever she wants me to be, painter, plumber, electrician, tile guy, plasterer, or mechanic.

2nd is Service Operations Manager for a HVAC/DDC contractor. I listen to all of the complaints/troubleshoot/repair/estimate/mechanical design/graphic design/programmer.... all of which makes me eat too much, drink too much, complain too much, take high blood pressure medicine, and gave me sleep apnea........... Isn't life wondeful...... thank goodness for hotrods!

At age 13 I started working in a hardware store (25 cents an hour!) and never looked back. I've driven trailer trucks, managed a Beneficial Finance office, worked for American Motors, ran the largest Performance Warehouse in New England (69-78) worked as a manufacturers rep for most of the biggies in the performance aftermarket, was the first guy to reproduce the Corvette knock-off wheels (1977), designed and brought to market an aftermarket block for Pontiacs (made 2806 HP w/ a pair of turbos and FI) znd for fun threw together my Seville. Currently building a higher HP engine.
