Found an old buddy on the net....
I got bored awhile back and started to google anything that came to mind. I stumbled on a website of my old army unit in Vietnam. I signed the guest book and a few days later I get an email from one of my old pilots!! To make a real long story short...He and a group of other bikers (oh yeah, hes into Harley's too) stopped in Memphis on their way back from Daytona bike week and we all got together and had some beers and BBQ on Beale street Wednesday night! Man it was so great to see him after almost 40 damn years!!! The reminicising was great! Cant wait to do it again.
Anyone else have any internet meeting stories???
PS...My old Army unit patch....

Had a buddy that use to fly (I think) 127? planes over Nam in the mid 60's. Finally got to see him again and couldn't belive the change. About 200 lbs. heavier(3 six packs per day) will do that. He was a pro boxer like myself before he was drafted and we had some great times together reminiscing old times.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Yeah, the net's good for that. An infrequent member here used to fly in the same outfit I was in and sent this site info to me a couple years ago; http://personalpages.tdstelme.net/~westin/batcat0.htm. Thanks John.
Even found a pic of our old crew on there;Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

That's one of the great things about the net! Through "classmates.com", I got in touch with a couple of my old high school classmates from the class of '66.
Later, one of my hardcore car buddies found my website, and contacted me.
After that, I found that my home town, in the midwest (Danville, Illinois) has a website, so I post a message on the bulletin board, and heard from a couple more of my "car buddies".
Great stuff!

Always wanted to be a pilot. My dad flew P-47's in WW2. Was shot down over germany. Gave me the 9m luger he took from a german officer. He also flew the p51 mustang's for about 2 months. He said nothing could touch the 47's over 20,000 ft.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

For you guys looking for old buddies,I tried several military websites and came up empty, but this worked !( Zabasearch.com) if you know the age and home state. And these were guys I served with 40 years ago.
