It's a joke because Michael Waltrip has made only one race this year so he sits and watches on Sunday....joke only works if you follow NASCAR a bit.

It is interesting that NASCAR (with the word "stock" in their
name) is based upon four manufacturers fielding cars that now
have ZERO content from a car that you or I can buy. Since the
R07 Chevy's introduction a few weeks ago, none of the engines
are from a real car.....and Toyota's uses a Chevy bellhousing
pattern!
The nameplate is the only common item between the race car
and the street car. The old adage "race on Sunday, sell on Monday" still works but we can only go to the dealer and buy a poor substitute
for the race car......in the old days you could go buy a real 409
Super Sport or a Galaxie XL 427 or a Plymouth 426 wedge and you
got a car that was pretty much like what was raced.....
But then, I sure wouldnt want to watch a bunch of six cylinder cars
running around a track on Sunday!!

There gunna sign with each other ,....which ones deaf? ...j/k
I am still confused as to why a open wheeled car is safe enuff to run no restrictor plates on a super speedway, the same speedway that nascar feels the need to slow down the cars with a restrictor plate
Lets compare ,open wheeled minimal roll cage ,nascar ,a rolling cage with every design feature imaginable for safety.......
Why do they allow open wheeled cart and irl cars to go 250 on the same track?
The restrictors need to go,in order to make it much more interesting.
I know ,I know its a safety thing, but maybe they should have chosen a safer job than racing, racing is dangerous, thats half the thrill, now nascar is trying to eliminate that aspect of racing and its getting pretty boring.
Other than some of the great tracks such as daytona and bristol, the racing has become kinda boring......and a little to much controll on what the racers say,I mean a penalty for saying something the officials do not like ,...c-mon thats a little too much control if you ask me,let the poor guy speak atleast. He is just going to say what most are thinking in the crowd anyway and that is good for the fans to hear, instead there is some massive penalty for speakin out.Last edited by shawnlee28; 05-30-2007 at 12:27 PM.
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

i like watching NASCAR occassionally, even more now that I finally can get it in Hi-Def, but your're right it does get boring - except at Bristol and maybe Richmond. As always in the end it's the DNF drivers who make it most interesting and how they ended up in that category.
I also like F1 racing. Always good to see engines taching to 19k rpm and not exploding in all directions.
