All our cars are named, the Cobra's "Redneck", 'cos that's what I am, that's what you get when you drive it, and it's painted red!
The Morris Minor is called "Rikki Tikki Tavi", from Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Books", Rikki Tikki Tavi was the mongoose that killed the cobra,and;
"Sweet Gypsy Rose" is what we call the '47, named from a song that was popular years ago. It's our cruiser, and has been the length and breadth of New Zealand, (hence "Gypsy") and we built it for She Who Must Be Obeyed, whose parents always called her "Rose". (Perhaps they called her that 'cos that's what they named her!)johnboy

Some mistakes are too much fun to be made only once.
I don't know everything about anything, and I don't know anything about lots of things.
'47 Ford sedan. 350 -- 350, Jaguar irs + ifs.

I owned a '62 Dodge panel for a few years and sold it to an old friend who also kept it for a few years. It was then acquired by the guy who signs "Aster" on this forum. Its paint was a sort of sea-sick green.
Owing to to that woeful color, this treasure has proudly carried the name "The Green Latrine" for almost forty years.
By the way, Rick (Aster), where you been lately? Check in and give us a report on the "A" coupe and the truck.

My uncle had a 64 galaxie with the 427 that was black on black, they called it the black rocket. I have been mulling over names for the 51 effie. Part of it I guess will depend on the color scheme we go with. I suggest orange and purple and calling it purple haze. that went over like a lead balloon.
after spending time over in the Philippines my uncle might go for Sweet Bibingka (a sweet cake but slang for.....) or something else along those lines.
We'll see, he's getting back sooner than I thought so I'll be talking to him about it soon.

After spending all the money on my two, my wife suggest that I should give them kids names so I could claim a deduction on my tax return for them. But unfortunately, SSA wouldn't issue a SSN for them.
My wife always refers to the 34 as "your baby", but I don't call it that. The only name I ever liked was already in use by a fellow rodder and that was "Uncomfortably Numb".

I once had a 1966 Comet known as "Rusty",.... I also had a 1968 Cougar when I worked at Gratiot Auto Supply in the 70's, there was something wrong with the charging system, after a new battery, alternator, voltage regulator,... Etc., I still needed a boost most of the time to get it started, so the car was affectionately known as "TRAMP",.... because it had been "jumped" by almost every car in town. Than there was the "Poison Dart" and my buddy's 51 Buick full custom project dubbed "Large Marge" ,......... The list is long and very unbecoming.a sinner saved by Grace,...... EPH. 2:8-9

Name
After having cancer surgery last year, my buddy called me and said...you always wanted a Cobra, it's time to buy one. I bought a Superformance and love it. We call her Lili. If you've ever seen Blazing Saddles, you may recall Hedley Lamar's obsessive fantasizing about the dancer "Lili Von Sthupp". That's the way I've been with Cobras ever since I saw my first Shelby in the mid sixties. "Lili, lili, Lili". BTW, the cancer is gone and Lili is getting a garage built just for her.
Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
