Anyone want to donate parts for 55 Chevy p/u to a highschool ?

Well, as some of you may know (probably very few) im selling a 55 Chevy pu for my buddy. The shop teacher from the local highschool called me today and wants to use it as a shop project. So, i talked to a few people i know who went there and a few people who work there and they said that this guy is a genuine guy and is really all for helping the kids. Therefore, my friend is going to sell the truck to the school.

When i talked to the shop teacher, he said that he wants to restore back to somewhat stock, with a few custom touches here or there. BUT the problem is, is that the truck has all sorts of stuff missing on it and im sure that the school wont spring for O.E.M. parts or even aftermarket parts to get this thing back up and going.

Therefore, i figured since its for a good cause (the teaching of the younger generation of rodders), i figured i would appeal to the site and see if anyone had any era correct parts laying around for it.

Now im not trying to make it sound like im asking for handouts, but i know we all (including me) have parts laying around with that are taking up space and it wouldn't kill us to part with them.

My hope is that the class will start working on it and here and there i can bring some parts in for them because i know the schools budget for this is slim to none, at least thats the word from some of the workers at the school. I plan on going in to check it out and take pictures of it as it progresses, but only god knows how long it will take. I also plan to keep a running journal of pics and updates on it on this site, at least thats the plan.

So, all in all, im just appealing to all rodders out there to see who, if anyone has something they would like to donate to the school. If parts are donated, I will hand deliver them to the class and when the parts get used, ill take pics and post them up to see how they were used.

If anyone is interested in doing this or if anyone had any questions, you can just reply to this thread, or if you would like some contact information, just message me.

I really hope that this project gets up and rolling, i would love to drop by the school and see it getting restored. At least if it goes there i know it will be worked on and taken care. I think its awesome the teachers choosing a classic favorite of mine to help the future genration along.

Any and all comments are welcome, whether it be ideas, criticizems, or just general advice, im all ears.

Take care guys, and thanks for reading.
