Our New Toy
There was a thread, a while back, about big trucks, or long trucks; I thought you all might like to see my son's new toy. Overall length is about 110 feet, total loaded weight near 120K.

If they don't get that new, proposed pipeline in he could be a busy boy!!!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Bob, that pipeline won't have much effect on his work; most of what he does is station delivery, albeit, it is to outlying areas. Most of his runs are in the neighborhood of three to five hundred miles, round trip. There is a new one in the wind, though, that will have him running from Phoenix, through "Vegas", and on to northern Nevada along the I80 corridor, then into Salt Lake and back to "Vegas", and Phoenix, and start all over again. He'll have to leave the second trailer in Las Vegas, and pick it up on the way back from Arizona, because they don't run the "trains" in AZ - or Calif., or Colo. This rig is a company owned one, but we are still working on an owner-op; when it comes through, we'll be contracted to this same outfit, with just a different compensation arrangement.
These "trains" are about 15,000 gallons if filled to max, but they usually carry about 13 to 14. There are bigger ones running in the US and Canada, though.
Dogtag, those Aussie "trains" are truly awe inspiring. We have several different pictures of some of them. Through the magic of hand held video, I got to take a ride in one from NSW to the Northern Territories, one time; most impressive.

Nice rigs! Don't think I'll be seeing either one of those running the northeast corridor any time soon!Bob
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
