Got a few more things started....
I've decided a couple of changes were needed. One.....decided to put the factory rake back in the grill shell to free up more space. Modified the radiator support again . Dropped the engine 1.5 inches and raised the transmission .5 inches to give a perfect level on the transmission oil pan. Mocked up the C4 IRS. Going to have to shorten it at least 4.5 inches on each side. Progress seems real slow right now....but hey...I'm still tickled to be doing this!

Everything looks like it's falling into place quite well.... As for as the do-overs, heck it's just part of the process!!!! Remember, if you don't have the time to do it right, when are you going to find the time to do it over???? I think it's easier to keep at it and get as much of the build right as you can the first time. Sure hate to get them done and have to second guess myself.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I really dont mind the do-overs. Its definitely part of the fun. I agree on doing it right. Like the cooling fan.....was going to ditch the Mark 8 in favor of an aftermarket so I wouldnt have to change the firewall....but I figured since I was going to have to change the firewall anyway....it was time well spent trying to make room for the 4000+ CFM factory unit. I'll admit...they aren't as perty as the aftermarkets but I dont want 'possible' cooling issues later. Now If I can just figure out the C4 IRS. LOL's. I subscribed to a couple other forums today that has a lot of information related to what I'm using. Lateral-G's and Pro-touring seems to have a lot of information about the IRS. I'll share what I figure out with everyone here. The best part of all of this.....I love learning new things....it helps cut the bordom. I have to narrow the batwing on the back of the IRS. I think it may be made out of 6010 alluminum so a good local welder with a tig should be able to help me out. I can't stress enough to everone on here.....thanks for all of the help. I will pay it forward. My son is already benifiting from all of this. He is glued to this site...pouring through everyone's builds. Thanks folks!

36 chevy fenders
Hey guys, any one out there with some good 36 chevy fenders that they don't need? I just ran into a 36 chevy low cab fresh out of the barn, and the front fenders are beat up pretty bad and also the back ones. I would like to find a nice set of steel fenders rather than bang these out, I sure hope the freight bill doesn't kill a good deal on a set,

How are things going for you FLH?

Update on progress.
I've made a little more progress since I was last here. Got the cab mounts made and installed. Motor and tranny are in final position. Finally got the wheels. They'll work fine. Installed the x brace, remote mount brake, and part of the floor. The firewall is more or less finished except I may need to open it up toward top for the blower. Can anyone tell me roughly what an 8-71 blower with carbs (I'll probably use throttle body injection that looks like carbs) and a small (low profile) bugcatcher. Ummm...today I got started on making some mock up jigs to take the place of the half shafts and camber rods for the vette irs. Please ignore the batwing. It's far from done. The guy had to go on vacation so he tacked it up for me so I get started on the rear. Ummm....I having Autoweld make me some rear frame rails (for room) with a 4.5" kick straight back so I can retain my bed. Tomorrow.....may start re-widening the rear fiberglass fenders 'cause they aren't wide enough. All for now. I hope everyone is enjoying their projects. I can't wait for my first drive. Gives me goosebumps thinking about it.....

Update on progress
Been a while. Spending more time in shop now than on computer.
Got the body mounted, frame more or less complete, bed in place, fenders mounted, and running boards shortened to match the bed.
Still soo much to do before the chill hits. Really looking forward to spring already....for paint. Cross my fingers.
