it aint no hot rod but thee oll work truck will be needing a motor soon ive gotten to thinking how cool it would be to have one of those new 6.0 truck motors in the truck <1980 3/4 ton 4x4>. ive heard the bellhousing are the same as they are running turbo 400's behind them in drag racing <the camaros> and guys are starting to pick up the 6.0 blocks from salvage yards. so can it be done? motor mount spots the same? can they be dealt with? i think it would be cool!

Just think about the electronics - including the tranny and probably the transfer case and possibly the 'shift on the fly' hubs, O2 sensors, fuel tank and electric fuel pump, etc. that you would need to change. Best bet, buy an entire donor truck(roll over/rear end hit), jack out all of your old parts and install the donor truck driveline and electronics and 'etc'.. Other then that, no big deal

might be easier to re-build the one you got ..

    The motor mounts are different
Edelbrock makes a carb manifold and MSD an ignition modual
Just finished an LS6 with Dart heads and the Edelbrock/Msd package going into a 70 Camaro

My son has an 06 Trailblazer SS all wheel drive that is fantastic---look for a totaled one of them

to get rid of the shift on the fly and everything is why i was asking about the bellhousings, just hook it up to my tranny and transfer case that gets rid of that, and put a carb manifold on it and theres that, only elec would be the ign, how did you deal with the motor mount deal just plate it? would stiell be cool to keep the fuel injection somehow, didnt the 00-04's have cable throttle?
