New Pledge Of Allegiance
The New Pledge of Allegiance
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
i have read were this was written by a 6th grader in some kind of contest..
so im not sure about the author but i liked it anyway delete it if you must..
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and enthusiasm.

yup, I suppose soon it will be okay to bring a gun to school and shoot people as a matter of expressing yourself, but if you pray before you get shot, then you have to get shot twice!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I personally would not like to see this deleted! When we forget GOD we are asking for the enemy of our souls to take command. So i guess i will get shot three times.I just wonder what happened to GOVERNMENT of the people by the people for the people?

Not to wax nostalgic, but when I see kids shooting kids, parents who don't know how or are afraid to disipline their kids, crime that is out of control, etc. I am so happy I knew a different time for most of my life.
We certainly weren't perfect, there was racial bias, sex bias, etc. But for the most part we knew and cared about our fellow man and had good, solid values. I grew up knowing I would be in trouble if I did wrong, and I tried to raise my Kids the same way. Yep, I spanked their butts on more than one occasion..........didn't beat them, but enough to let them know they did wrong.
Now I see all this political correctness, and things like "time out" and feel this is why school yard today look like armed camps.........high chainlink fences, armed guards, and good kids who are afraid of the not so good ones who carry weapons to school. We have even made it so that a caring parent is afraid to be strong with their child for fear they might end up in trouble themselves.
NOPE, GIVE ME THE OLD DAYS FOR SURE.

i toldyouso i agree with what you said. but i feel that some of the freedoms we have in our schools now are for the good. when i was in school in the 70's we were not allowed to questions our teachers on points of interest. now my son enjoys that privlege without being afraid of a trip to the office. our schools now are more diverse and we have to take into consideration more and more of other cultures. Things might not be as great in alot of ways as they were a while back. But in the schools of today they are exercising their right of expression like never before. And that can not be all bad. I am not for the violence and disrespect and i am for children being disciplined within reason without the local goverment having a say. But if some parents of today would take time to be with their kids instead of buying them things that keep them quiet maybe children will have more respect for their elders and people in authority. I know that mine does. and they better.BARB

My Daughter is a teacher and one on the students in another class refused to stand up for the pledge in the morning. Damn if the teacher didn't get 3 days off and almost fired. F*** the little bas*****--getting a free education in this country and has no respect .Last edited by Larry M; 11-13-2007 at 12:09 AM.

Thats why my three kids go to private school. The have the 10 comandments right out front by the doors coming in to the school. They also have prayer and the pledge before classes start. At all the school functions like games or any other event they also pray to God and have the real pledge. Oh and everyone does participate in prayer and the pledge. The teachers enforce making them say the pledge. My daughter said if her one teacher sees that your not saying the pledge, then when its over you go to the front of the class and say it by yourself.

Until 1954, the words "under god" were not part of the pledge. They were added after intense lobbying by the Knight of Columbus. Personally, I prefer the pre-1954 version.

We who grew up in the '50's and '60's probably saw the best times that any generation had available to them.
Every year since the mid-70's, the educational system has gone to hell a little further. Even the "well educated" kids today don't know crap about American history. They either didn't pay attention or the teachers didn't bother to teach it. Most can't speak intelligently, and very few can count past 10. Few would be able to add if it weren't for their fingers or the calculators built into their cell phones.
It irritates me to no end, when the re-visionists begin to talk about our history. They only see it from their narrow minded point of view. Nearly all of the highly overpaid college professors are liberals who refuse to tolerate any student who has a conservative bent. It is sad when truth about the righteous deeds of our great country are trumped by tainted opinion.
I agree with Hoss429, I am glad I won't be around for the final dumbing down of this once great society.Bob

I was really impressed when football season started and the new coach held parent meetings. He went through all the rules and at the end of the meeting he said, "I realize this is a public school but I'd like to lead us in a prayer for the boys that they and all of our opponents have a safe season. Anyone who does not wish to pray with us is welcome to leave." About half a dozen people did leave, but not a word was said from administration about it. The schools need more coaches like him.

People are just stupid that's all there is to it. I don't see why they can't keep their mouths shut and ignore things. I HATE politics and this is one example why. People make huge deals about things like the word "god", who is the new mayor, the new president, etc. I don't even care, I keep my oppinion to myself because no matter what you can't change nothing by complaining, you might as well sit back and ignore it and not let it get to you.
As for the little punk ass kid in school that didn't stand for the pledge (probably because his parents told him not to, not fully his fault) I would have beat the crap out of him and mostly his parents. I remember my pastor saying that a lot of things like this isn't the kids fault, it's the parents and that is true but then again there are some things you just know are right and not right. It's disrespectful to do that as we all know. Same goes for protestors (sp) at military funerals with the signs that say our people in the military are going to hell.www.streamlineautocare.com
If you wan't something done right, then you have to do it yourself!
