We got about 4", but temps in the mid 30s now so it's starting to melt away. In the lower lands and closer to the Sound it's all melted away already. Supposed to get some high winds later today/tonight, so might have the generator running again!

The schools here are 2 hours late - we had about an 1" of snow but it rained and froze on top of that, but since the temp has gone above 32F (0C for our Canadian and other friends), starting to melt, especially with the salt piled on the roads. Makes me wonder why I'm building a steel car when the residue is there all year though I did seal a bunch of seams on Friday with the 3M 08656 brushable seam sealer. You don't need illegal drugs with that stuff - my head spun up for 2 hours afterwards

One short sled ride last night,,,,,not quite enough snow yet so had to settle for a 90 mph pass in the field across from the store!!!! Just a bit more snow this week, and let the games began!!!!!!!!! My pal Phil had his turbo'd Yamaha out, sure am getting tired of watching his tailight disappear ahead of me.... Where the heck is that nitrous bottle anyway??????

Still snowing hard here. Plows been in twice this morning. My new contract doesn't start till Wednesday, so I'm killing time, leaping all over the hotrod sites giving unsilicited advice to people who won't take it anyways.

Now, now Brian, don't be so hard on yourself.
I took your advice and put an S-10 rearend and Vega cross steering in my 26 T coupe that you recommended.

Tom---I'm being somewhat facetious. I actually have a fairly big following on the websites, and they do follow my advice a lot of the time. I am always glad when I am able to help people out.---Brian

Damn!!! This is unbelievable. I just walked out to the mailbox, but the mailman hasn't even ventured out. The plow has done my driveway twice today, and there is about 9" of new snow in it right now. When you consider that last year I was washing the hotrod in my driveway on the 09-January, and it hadn't snowed yet, this may be shaping up to be a long winter. Oh, global warming---Where are ya when I need ya????

What I could never understand is how some states do not allow people to use chains or studded tires when driving in that stuff. How many accidents could be avoided if tire chains/studded tires were used. How about people who get stuck/stranded because they can't have chains. I would be carrying a set of chains if there were the chance that I would possibly get stuck or stranded.

Tom---I have to ask!!! Why do you have that front crossmember set so far below the top of your frame? With it set up the way you have it, you will lose any benefit gained by running a dropped front axle. Your car is going to have a crazy "nose high" stance.-Model A crossmembers are flush with the top of the framerail. OR---Were you aiming for the 'Gasser" stance? I have attached a picture of the crossmember in my car, and a side view to show how it sets with a 4" dropped axle.---Brian
