    Shop Time

Even though my project feels like one step forward and two back at times, I do seem to make progress, although slowly. Recently, I've noticed the satisfaction derived from solving the slightest problem. It's as if I've entered the "Garage Zone", as insulated from the outside world as any 60's sci-fi TV program could portray. Today I found satisfaction from heating and bending compound curves into sheet steel to cover extra holes in the firewall. Also, moving the steering column over just a little in order to line up the rack and pinion box I'm using on the straight front axle.
Granted, these little triumphs are old hat to most of the guys on this forum, as I get way more help from all of you than I am able to give. But no matter what the level of experience, I am willing to bet that we all get in the zone when bent over the latest piece of steel.
It's my own little Never Never Land. Same for you guys?

I usually keep a book with "things to do" in it. One page will be "frame" another is "front suspension", etc. My little reward at the end of the day is to sit down and cross off things I got accomplished that day. Kind of lets you see that you really did get something done because often it seems we work all day on something and get nothing done. What is the old saying "how do you eat an elephant? answer, "one bite at a time."

I have to keep playing these little mental games with myself to keep from feeling buried in the build, with no end in sight.

My problem with 10,000 square feet of shop space is that nothing in it is mine
Instead of being part of the problem, be part of a successful solution.

not much happening here either.thought I'd try polishing my intake manifold,so I bought dremel cheapy kit on ebay [you get what you pay for]then I bought a electric 1/4 " diegrinder and asst. wheels, discs and pads.I then figured I would practice on my new alum water pump.I've got about10 hours on the pump ,it now is starting to finally look like I might actualy get it to shine.maybe I'll get to do my intake.

Coolster - good to see there are others like me who utilize their car roofs in winter for important things. Between the parts boxes and my wife's QVC boxes you can't tell if the car even has a roof.
