new summer gig.
ive been placed with a new guy at work a couple weeks ago. ive always seen his truck in the parking lot, all decaled up like a AHDRA pit truck. thats amaerican harley drag racing association for those that do not know. he somewhere heard tale that i had a drag car and we got to talking. last year he bought a new pro dragster nitro harley, runs on 94% nitro. hes still working up to speed, they run i gather about 7.00 @ 200 mph. he mentioned he needs someone to help him run this bike and i stepped up and offered myself to do it. ive never worked on a harley but think it will be a great time, speed always facinates me no matter how you get there, and also something new to learn in the process is always a good thing. my wifes happy because i will have less chance to tear up my stuff for a change. you know me i will post a picture here and there, the bike is like 12 feet long and has a tad over 500 horse power.

Getting that bike down the track isn't too difficult, its getting OFF the throttle and keeping it upright and straight thats tough!! When you get outta the throttle on one of those, all the inertia in the rear wheel basically reverses...can start a SERIOUS case of the shakes... once that happens, all you can do is hold on and close one eye...(you need to keep one eye open to TRY and see where your gonna end up!!!) Got a customer that runs a Pro Alcohol drag HD...FUN stuff! If its not worth doing right, its not worth doing... Donny, MaxxMuscle Custom Painting

IHRA runs them as Top Fuel Harley and when they're right and get a good bite they'll run around 6.7's approaching 230 with the front wheel off the track for most of the run.
NHRA had them at some of the tracks last year in an exhibition type scenario. They are awesome.Ken Thomas

Ya these things are pretty wild. I like how they hold the front tire off the track for about 3/4's of the run. Then you see a puff of smoke when the front tire makes contact with the track, cool!Friends dont let friends drive fords!
