You know, it's interesting, I was in Germany on the Autobahn a couple years ago and they have actual wild life crossings overtop it at different intervals. Imagine an overpass that is grown over with brush and grass. I wondered at the time how effective they really were. While I never saw any deer on them, I figured that it must work at least a little bit or they'd have a lot more of these types of accidents.

All that being said, I would be really surprised if that is actually a deer. It seems like a really small opening for a deer to go through. The carcass looks really small for a deer, and, after having seen a few cars that have come into contact with deer, the damage seems pretty minor as well.

    Anyway, photos are pretty gruesome.

i have no idea what it is , my lil brother is stationed in germany at this time and sent this to me , could be a dog for all i know ..

but firechicken my chief engineer showed me a page from his local paper just resently that had some comments made at their town meeting , this one gentlemen had actually addressed the board of town leaders with some input of his own .. he said that the deer crossing sign down the road from his house was inifective and that way to many deer where being hit by vehicles in the signs present location and asked the town leaders to move the sign to a more safer location for the deer to cross..

It looks like a deer, sure enough. The deer in germany are quite small.

    It's what's for dinner! yum!
