That's pretty interesting. Wonder if many people will participate?
I WAS an Ebay-a-holic up until a few months ago. I have made a lot of money selling on it, everything from car parts to 3 of my own boats. I have also spent a lot of money buying more car parts. But things are not the same there any more, they were becoming very onesided it seemed. They wanted to take your money, but not really do anything for you when you needed help. There are no phone numbers so you can reach a real human being, and even Paypal is of little help when you CAN get them.
I was charged 3 listing fees of $ 80 each for ONE boat I sold. The original guy bombed out so I did two second chance offers. The third guy bought it and Ebay treated it like 3 seperate boat sales. I emailed and tried to get them to understand, but it was so confusing and such a hassle I finally gave up and let them keep the money. They wear you out hoping you will throw in the towel eventually.
Now I rarely even log on to Ebay and we have started using things like forum classified ads to sell our uneeded stuff. I had heard this new CEO was making it more expensive and taking away the ability of sellers to put in any negative feedback, so that did it for me. Won't be hard for me to boycott them, I wasn't planning on using them again anyway.

being a buyer on e bay i get fustrated with one thing freight, shipping and the strange markup of 3-4 times the shipping cost from some sellers to make up for the bid cost of the item.
I honestly think it drives down the bidding. I shure wont pay 10.00 for a dvd that they want 10.00 to ship when it actually costs 1.80 internaional
Instead of being fair regarding freightone gets very suspisious regarding the item and bids on it.

I'm getting kind of fed up with eBay, and real fed up with Pay Pal!!!! Man, if you have a difficulty with a buyer, for me it's with a liar who sez he didn't get his parts, they don't even want to listen to you!!!!! After you do finally get a real person on the phone at Pay Pal, you have to go through 3 or 4 of his alleged "supervisors" before you get hold of someone who will actually give you an answer besides what is on his printed script!!!! No wonder people are dropping out of eBay!!! Putting up with the scammers was bad enough!!!! The new management had better wake up soon!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I agree, the shipping costs from most of these sellers is outrageous. It discourages me from buying anything on ebay recently. You're telling me it costs $20.00 to ship a set of plug wires from PA to NY? Thats B.S. I know it only costs around $7.00 by UPS, even less by postal service...come on sellers, be honest and stop trying to turn more profit on the shipping than the actual item.
Besides that, it seems like ebay has lost its charm. There was a time I could type in "HEI distributor" and get a nice list of folks selling used and like new distributors....but now all you get is listing after listing of "online stores" selling imported junk from china and the guy is charging $40 for shipping. It seems like the guys cleaning out their garages and listing on ebay have been pushed aside by too many people making businesses on ebay.
Now that im done venting, I'll go to bed

I've been spending more time shopping at racingjunk.com then eBay lately....I suppose just a matter of time till the scammers and crooks jump in and ruin it too.... Honesty and integrity seems to be really out of style these days!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I have bought and sold on ebay since they began, I have only been riped off by two sellers. I have sold about $7500.00 in spare parts since last Aug. window handles to '36 fenders ($135.00 each to ship & hoods (only $32.00 to ship) I have never charged more than it actualy costs to ship.
You have to check what you are buying and the shipping. I bought a printer for pic's only 5x5x10 it cost $24.95 to ship, but it only cost $.99 to buy, they also have the same one for $24.95, and $.99 shipping! and for $24.95 plus $7.00 to ship. You have to check and don't buy the 1st thing you find.Ya I know not everyone is selling a windsheild crank for a '37 chevy truck! but I sold 4 of them, one at a time, and made good money on them.! I sold a fender for a '36 chevy truck with spare tire well and parts, it looked like it was run over a few times, but it was solid and would be a easy fix to hammer out. I sold it for $49.00 and the guy paid $135.00 actual shipping cost! but the guy knew it before he bid!
I had a women e-mail me and told me, that I should have cleaned the '87 Mustang tail light I sold her, she was going to give it for christmas. I said the 1st line said "It's dirty from sitting in the garage"
I'm still going to buy & sell things on there, and I still will check it out before I bid!!!
I just bought a '27 T Coupe body(they don't make a '27 Coupe model) for a '27 Tudor Sedan model kit, it came with the top pushed in and the A & B pillar broke and a crack on the roof, I e-mailed him last night, and got an e-mail back this morning that he is sending off another one free, asap!

If I am looking for something on Ebay I check the sellers with similar or identical products. If one quotes shipping at $6 and another says $15 I steer clear of the higher one. As mentioned we all know UPS rates are reasonable. Hey if it's $7 and they charge $2 for the box and bubble wrap that's still reasonable. But the ones who want to make it on the shipping instead of the products I don't buy from. There is no substitute for cubic inches

Usually when i buy on e-bay and i suspect the shipping is out in left field,
I`ll tell the seller if the shipping is less, i want a credit on my paypal, if they
