Joe, good luck with the surgery. Things should be much better afterwards.

My wife's father just had a titanium hip put in a few months back. It was a succesful operation and he feels better now then he has for 15 years. he's thinking about having the other one done now. Like you, he says his body parts are worth more than his financial investments.

Hope the surgery goes well for you Joe.

All you guys running around with precious metal in you better watch out. Around here they are stealing catalytic convertors and home a/c units to sell and get some drug money. One of these guys finds out what you all are worth and it might be off the the scrap yard with you.

Anyone know how TwoMany2count did with his neck surgery? Haven't seen anything from him since he was scheduled for last Thursday.

I've been hanging kinda low, taking drugs, watching TV & looking at the back of my eyes.
Everything went fine , it did take longer then expected because there was more damage there then what could be seen on the MRI. Didnt hardly sleep at all the first nite because I couldn't get comfortable at all. Hell I haven't really slept well since they did it, I just can't get comfortable. Been really high on drugs because at times "it still hurt like hell", BUT I can tell things did change for the better.
I feel a little better, but its time for more drugs & bed time. I may come on & just see whats up but i doubt you'll hear much from me since it took forever to type this.
    Thanks again folks for everything....joe

Joe....Glad to hear you are upright and everything went pretty well. Surgery is always scary, no matter what is involved.

Joe, so glad to hear you are starting the healing process. A guy I know had a similar operation, they had to go in through the front and move his larnyx (sp) around and all to get to the neck problem , but he is doing really well now.

One good thing, they have some really super drugs out there now. When I had my angioplasty I kinda became addicted to the morphine drip. They made the mistake of giving me the control button That ended pretty quick because they kept having to refill the bottle. They still gave me the button, but I don't think it was hooked up because I didn't get the same buzz. When it was working, whole days would pass by and I didn't even know it.

Take care, and just pop in for a few minutes every so often and let us know you are ok.

    Don

Good to have you back Joe. You know the fine print disclosure stuff always worries me in the hopital, and I work in one!

That's basicly what they did to me. They went through the front on both of the fusions I have had w/very little problems. Swallowing was the only problem I had for a few days. Hell it took almost an hour for me to eat a small ham sandwich later that night & I was sooooo damn dry that I bet I drank a gallon of water between the time I got home & the next morning. After what happened while trying to eat the ham sandwich I decided to eat softer foods & it took a couple of days before I could eat "real" food again.

As for the drugs, yea I can see that happening. That's why I tried not to take hardly any in the past. I seen myself becoming addicted to them & I refused to become an addict. I told the doc to give what I needed & I would self medicate myself when I felt it was needed. There were times I wouldnt take anything for several days untill it was a "must do" thing.

As a teenager & into my early 20's I paid to feel all drugged up & high & enjoyed it. But I can honestly say that since all of my surgeries & now that I HAVE TO do these drugs I can't stand it because of the high they give me. It must be because I'm older & wiser ....joe

Yes Joe, he mentioned too that swallowing problem for a while. Last time I saw him he only had this little scar on his throat and he was lifting things and feeling great, so I have the same high hopes for you.
