Rebirth of a legend - thoughts?
I ran across this web site this morning. Apparently Dodge has rereleased the Challenger. Dodge - 2008 Challenger
I am delighted and at the same time have mixed emotions about these cars. Ford did it with the Tbird and new Mustang both nice cars, but not the same as the originals. Dodge's release of the Challenger with the 370 Hemi 425 stock horse power, did a quick spin of the head for me. I like the raw horse power and modern suspension technology. It looks great. Yet I love the originals. At 40K sticker price you may be able to get an original!
What are your thoughts about new versus classics? No snobbery, just curiosity!

The design is good and true to the original if nothing else...There is no substitute for cubic inches

I think it is a nice looking ride. Muscular to a point but not exaggerated such as the muscularity of the VIper. But I agree with 35Window, at $40K that is a bit much. About the price of the now gone GTO and Thunderbird, which are both gone. Not enough market at that price. Geez, I realized it has a Hemi in it but damn it's nearly 10 times more money then the original was.Bob

It's gorgeous, much better looking than the new camaro. But you can get a base vette for about the same. Vette mo better .............
But way over priced. But I bet they still sell 'em.
