Rebuilt Ala Kart
Well Roy Brizio's shop finally finished the Ala Kart for John Mumford and it made it to the 2008 Grand National Roadster Show. Didn't win the AMBR this time around as it did in the early '60s but it still looks great. It did win the 2008 AMBR Outstanding Class Award
2008 AMBR Outstanding Paint
2008 Blackie Geijian Award of Excellence hotrodshows.com

Always loved that truck. Over the top, but cool.

Hey Larry, did you do your usual good photo shots of the Sea. Roadster show? Haven't gone in years and rely on you/!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Sure did Bob. Kept my eye out for ya! I'm just starting to get some of the pics up. Took about 500 pics there early Friday morning. I was able to get in a couple of hours before the show started but never got outta there til after 2:00pm.
Had to run over Brent and Sherrie's place to see the new GT 40 that came last week.
I was a bit disappointed the AMBR and Ala Kart wasn't at the show but it still had some nice cars there.

Thanks Larry! Ala Kart is just as good looking as it was first time around. Old George really outdid himself on it, always thought it was one of his best!
Now, when are either you or Brent going to get us all caught up on the GT 40????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

You bet Dave. I sure wish it would of made it to the Seattle Roadster Show, would of loved to see it again in person.
I hope I didn't let the cat outta the bag on the GT40 MkIV. Although I didn't recall him telling me to shut my face up about it.
I have a few pics of itLast edited by Larry M; 03-04-2008 at 10:42 AM.

Thanks Bill, wasn't sure if he did that yet. Haven't got over to CC yet this morning.

I remember when Ala Kart was new. Musta been featured in every car mag there was. Then AMT made a 1/25th scal model kit which I built of course. There is no substitute for cubic inches

I did the same thing Twitch. As soon as it hit the shelf at our local hobby shop I bought one.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
