    Computer illiterate needs help!!!!

I'm sure for most of you this will be simple stuff, but for me it might as well be the final exam for an astro-physics class in grad school!!!!!

Before my old 'puter did the crash and burn and resultant replacement my kid transferred my pictures to a disc... I want to put some of the pics, but not all of them, on my new 'puter.... How do I do this, or is it best left for the kid to do sometime he happens to make an appearance at home for something other then food, sleep, or $$$$$$$ ????????

Everytime I hear or somebody helping someone out that involves right clicking on anything, I am reminded about my mother needing help one time.

So, my dear old mother had a friend Lois, that had a picture of her grandchildren on her computer as her wall paper. Well, my mom saw this and had to have a picture of her grandkids as her wall paper as well. At this time, my mom and dad had owned their computer for probably 6 months and she called one day asking me to help her change her background on her screen. Here is how the conversation went:

Son: Ok mom, right click on an empty area of your desktop.

    Mom: What's that?

    Son: Your screen mom.

Mom: There is no empty area.

Son: Sorry, I meant an area with no icons

Mom: You mean the small picture things on the same screen that says start?

Son: Yes. Move the mouse away from the start button and those pictures where the screen is blank and right click.

Mom: Oh ok, wait, what do you mean by "right click"

Son: Ok, your right hand is holding the mouse right?

    Mom: Yes.

Son: Ok, when your holding the mouse, the button that your middle finger is resting on is the right mouse button, click it.

Mom: Push it with my middle finger?

Son:........Yes mom, if you don't use your middle finger, the computer will know you're doing it wrong and it will not allow us to continue....

She didn't find it near as funny as I did.....

    Cheers,
    Dutch
