Hired a new helper at the shop.

And he works pretty cheap, couple of cans of food a day is all it takes.

About 5 days ago we saw a little stray cat outside our shop, so we took out a dish of food for him/her (I don't have a good track record telling the difference ) Poor thing was really skinny and although it was scared of us, he ate the food once we walked away. Every night we have been putting out more food for him and gradually he has calmed down. Now he looks for us and we are able to pet him and he rubs up against you.

He doesn't seem to be very old, and I think he was used to people at one time by the way he now acts........not at all like a wild cat. Tonight I sat with him while he gobbled down two cans of food and some dry food too. Got him to even hold still for some pictures.

I feel so sorry for animals who have to fend for themselves like that, so tomorrow I am going to call the animal rescue league and see if they can take him in. They don't ever put them to sleep and keep the animal till it adopts out. If I didn't already have two at the shop and three at home I would take him in, but pretty soon I'm going to be like that crazy cat person you always hear about who has like 100 cats.

If they can take him he will adopt out pretty fast I bet. Cute little fella and he loves being with people.

That one knows a soft touch

I have a couple of strays that wander around here on a regular basis (neither seem underfed). I don't mind at all.... don't seem to have the mouse problem out in the storage buildings I've had in the past.
I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

    Don
I'd put him on guard of Don Jr's car. Maybe he'll scare the demons away! I had a cat just like him for 14 years. We called him Wildfire, great cat. My wife and I have a huge place for strays in our lives! Keep up the good work.

My wife just called she is on her way home with number 17 he was coming around starving. I tried to give him some food and he would take off, I would put the food down and he would come back to eat. After a couple of days I put my hand out for him or her at the time I didn't know what it was. When the guy knew we were not going to hurt him he couldn't thank us enough. My wife took home to the Veterinary clinic that we use to see if he was ok. They tested him for feline leukemia he was negative. The cat weighed 6 pounds, and the Dr. thought he was about I year old. It is hard not to try to help them when they come here starving. Someone had this cat because he is so friendly now. We are hoping to find a good home for him; nice to know other people have a soft spot for stray animals.

My neighbor is a 80's something widow who has a cat that she feeds. When she broke her hip and went to the hospital, I bought some cat food so her cat would be fed. I had never seen the cat close, just from across the street. I went over, filled the water bowl and put some pretty darn expensive cat food in the dish. I turn around and nearly jumped outta my shoes. Looking at me was the weirdest, ugliest cat I ever saw. Kinda like outta of a horror movie. Anyway, I kept feeding the cat until she got home. I would just squint so the cat was a blur.
