The sad truth is, the real pioneers of drag racing are all dying off due to the one unstoppable problem, aging.

At 69 everyday I wake up is a good day. I don't postpone my wamma do's anymore, I just do them!
Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like

Just yesterday, I was preparing some stuff to forward to Hawker-Beechcraft about a test/demostration pilot job in Witchita and thoughts of Foster, Wiebe, Hanna went thru my thoughts--I didn't know he was not well or had moved to Idaho--now today, hearing this---

I did read thru all the tributes/thoughts published by the folks at wdifl and am spending a quiet evening with my memories of the times I have spend with these fallen legends of racing---for an Illinois farmboy to have crossed paths with these exceptional people----I'm honored to have known them and been able to participate in that era of such artistry of those thinkers, fabricators, painters, bodymen, etc

    RIP folks
