Talking look what I got !

    1969 VW camper model
Everything is there, minimal rust ,running ,after coil install , shifting , needs tires.
dropping it off at the VW guys place next week, and have it gone thru, before taking it out on the road. He said he can update the gears and change a few things so it'll be dependable , as a VW gets . going with bigger jugs (who wouldn't !!! ) maybe different rims .
Farming it all out except the body and paint .

any body got pix of close to this year or a good forum to go read.
trying to think of a good paint job , leaning towards green and white, and taking the fiberglass camper off and installing the short pop up.

I had a VW Vanagen, great ride!!!! It was given to me for payment of an old billl, replaced the alternator and batter, washed and buffed out the exterior and a good cleaning inside, triple my money!!!!! Not a bad deal. Kept it about 3 months, made a few trips in it, really road nice!!!!

treekiller....watch out for the crosswinds. That baby is HIGH. Worked for a company that had a VW van many years ago, and went to Lincoln, NE to haul a cabinet on the top back to Sioux City. It was pretty tall with the cabinet on top, and a couple of times it felt like the wind was going to turn it over. I like red and white?

I'm envisioning removing all seats except the front two and installing a 500 inch Cadillac amidships.

We have three (fixing to be 4) red vehicles already ,or it would be.
it's heavier than I thought it would be for a VW but yes, I could feel it on the way home catching wind.
    I don't like how it looks like it's wearing a hat ...
seen where they are making new short canvas side pop ups to fit it , so I’ll probably go with that, when closed they only sticks up 2.5" above the top not 10" or 12".
The wife found an Olive drap green looking color she is wanting , sage or something. I just don't know what I'm going to do to make it a little different , two tone wise, maybe some ghost or pearl graphics close to the same color hidden in the stock looking paint , unless I see something else between now and the time to paint.
was looking for a split window for my brother ,when we found this.

    For 500bucks.... I couldn't pass it up
I know I can get more then that for it just like it is if I cleaned it up and put tires on it . she’s wanting to drive it for a while to see if she likes it " because it's just SO cute" , she won't get on the interstate or go more the 40 or so miles from the house anyway most of the time .

we drove an HHR for about 6 or 8 months till a big truck passed her on the interstate and she said " it moved the whole car!! " that was the end of that.
    hope this isn't as bad...

not this bus.... but ....I've got a super beetle sitting in my field I took as part of a trade and I want to build a frame/cage and use a turbo,BB, and see how fast i can go.... told my dad and he sad "it'll just flip over and spin around !" and my wife said "why not just take a big pile of money and burn it and lie about that time I built this VWrocket it should feel the same".

I'll never do it, probable sell the SuPer bug for 500. and put it in something else.

Always did like the way Richard thinks

Got my butt handed to me years ago (1976 or so) by a 396 powered VW bus.

Yup got all the aerodynamics of a brick there
I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

    Thanks Pat!
lots of stuff to look at and read ...
I wonder why most of the ones shown are plain ?
almost like they are letting them rust.
AnD looks Like I got a better deal then I thought !!!! " SWEET!! "

hippie-ise/flowers and vintage rainbows : If I was going to sell it I would do them in neon but since I have a little respect around here ( at least when people are standing in front of me ) and we're going to drive this thing a little . I think I'm going for more of a "lets go check that out "/ then a laughing pointing ,holding their side " what the hell -- I know they smoke dope " look .........

been thinking of the usual peace signs and maybe some flower/vines around the bottom but kind of low key, not in your face.

    >> Wife said she'll put a rainbow pillow in it ,when we are done .
