My wife's brother lives in Jackson, we have friends near Nashville, and friends south of Knoxville. I, too, have been looking at Tennessee as a possible retirement place...Jim

Gawd I hate moving-you find stuff you put "somewhere" 10 Years ago and now you have to do something with it. And, I can't even fathom how I would pack up my Shop-if I move again I think I will sell it all and buy new-maybe a match would be easier (insert evil smiley guy here)-

After our last move I'd rather die here and put up with bad neighbors then do that again! My mom had passed away, so we moved my stuff out of her house, plus all the stuff we were keeping, then drove 70 miles with the moving truck to our rental cottage and loaded up all of that stuff and moved into our new old house all in one day. It was 5p.m. by time we started unloading the moving truck, and it began to rain. I was doing well until I got to the fridge. The house we bought was 1858 and the door ways were pretty narrow. The fridge wouldn't budge through the intrance way, and it was raining. We had to get it inside for all the stupid groceries to stay cold. I felt defeated(couldn't get to my tool box which I put in first to the moving truck!), when my wife shows up with John, our new neighbor. In less than 2 minutes he had the doors off the fridge, and then muscled it up the steps by himself. What a great neighbor he was!
Lesson to be learned pack the tools last so they are the first thing you can get to!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Man! There is all to do! We have had all inspections and passed all of them, I have been trying to figure out the cheapest way to get our stuff to Tn, It had come down to my father in-law is flying up from Tn to drive one of the 2-26 Ft trucks, I'll drive the other, he will tow the Blazer, I'll tow the Mustang.
I have checked with movers They all ask how much does it all weigh??? How the Hell would I know .
we will have to stay up here to take care of things after we sign on the 28th.
I had to locate mini storage down there to put everything into till we find the house we want. I have to send 2 deposits, 1 for each of the 2 10'x30' mini storages, had to locate a crew to unload the truck into the storage the he will be bring down befor we get there, call about the trash, water, gas & electric, cable, etc.
I had to check all that, then call them all back after we figure what to do, to tell everyone this what is going to happen, (Hopefully) and everyone needs to paid before we can pickup, or resereve anything, before we get the money for the house to pay fo it all! That's a wee bit of money up front, when your working part time. My income went from $80,000.00-120,000 more if I work harder, a year to $20,000.00 a year try that much of a change, most of our work has gone to China! (other than the turbo's and auto stuff we make & sale ourselves) So you know how I feel about sending anythink out of the country to be made! I Will NOT even think of another Cliton to give the rest of our country to ............I won't say on here! You won't win an argument with me over that!!!!!!!!!!
I only work 1/2 days, I have since we put it on the market 19 months ago,, I missed yesterday, because we had to take our black cat to the vet, and then put her down, she was 16yr old.
We have emptyed the attic Holy Cow, it was full! now our livingroom is full of stuff for the VA to come and get.
Our kid is really mad that we are moving south, She grew up in Ohio with grandparents, she is married and is 25, she has known that we were moving for about 8 yrs now. She came over yesterday, and is starting to deal with the fact we are moving.
Well it's almost 7:00 and I need to head to work.
I'll talk at you again later. See Ya, Bye!

Pat,
If you can't get your T stuff especially the doors, frame hanging on your wall, goodies in your shed, etc., in the truck I'd be happy to get rid of them for ya
When Hormel Foods sold their Print Shop and I lost my job I started working for the company that bought it, Smyth Printing, I took a $20,000 a year cut in pay. Suchs that was nothing compaired to what happened to you. Hope Tn is better for you.
When I go up to the Cities who am I going to bug from now on?

Tom,
The 2nd truck I'm going to put the Coupe on the frame jig, & Tudor in then the spare Hemi, tool box, and all other tools, then the small trailer (which I might take apart), last the trike, then I'm packing the rest of our stuff around it, and tow the Mustang! Whew, Makes me tired just thinking about it. So I will not have problems about not getting my car stuff loaded.
What if I find my Holley?
I still need a A axle, with spring & spindals.
I hope to get a mill w/read outs & rotory table, lathe, grinder, and saw, so that I can machine parts at home.
I have been making poly bushings for cars, I've made over a 1000 (32 pieces to a set) of them in the last weeks, I have been machining turbo hot sides, and mid sections of our gear box for the 3000VR4 4wheel drive. we have been trying to stocking them up becasue I'll be gone, but they have been selling them as fast I can make them. We have to have more Turbo's, gear boxes, traction arms and fuel rails poured, I think we're about out. takes about 6-8 weeks to get them.

Tom,
What is he going to do with the bumpers & brackets on the A in the pic?
Well if you want to come by saturday the 26th, so far it's just Donna and I loading the trucks, I pick up one friday night and put everything in the garage and then house thats not car stuff, then later saturday I pick up the other one and load the T bodys, trike, tools, trailer, etc, and a tow dolly for the Blazer, I'll get the other tow dolly for the Mustang just before we leave on friday. .
I think I need sleep.

I'll see what my wife's plans are for that day, she goes to a church up there on the Sabath. I usually don't go so I could drop her off and come over to your place for a few hours.
I'll also check about them bumpers and brackets, what are they worth?

Thanks, I could use the help, as of right know, everyone I asked is busy that weekend, And I do need the help, Donna can't help with the bigger things, but she will do it anyways, to help me, even if she can't move after we're done. (It's called Stubborn women syndrome) Got to love her, I do!
Donna just realized she will be without her pc for 1 to ? weeks She says we need to get a lap top, a week is to long. Maybe! Naawww, we can wait! Darn, darn , darn, darn, already have withdrawals, and it won't start till saturday! Darn thats going to hurt for a while.
