So, are you saying the front tranny seal leaks afteer you replaced it? It's not too clear if that's what you're stating. You may have to recheck exactly where that leak is coming from. May not be the seal itself. As for carb, what have you done so far as to adjustment or checking things like float level etc?

yes I have replaced the trannys on both the monty and on my 67 buick wagon, filter and both seals, seems like if they both sit a day or two, there is a big pluddle of fliud on the floor, looks like it's coming from the fly wheel cover,so I just asumed it's the from frt seal,as for the carb, I put a kit on it a while back , just set the air screws out 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 turns, can't remember, old age I guess seems to run ok but it just smells to rich,

Flash light time or a dye the you can purchse to put into the fluid. It needs to be pin pointed because a front pump will leak from that area also. Tranny pans will seep and collect from that area throwing you off. I've experienced dipsticks leaking because of the fluid build up upon shut down and they drip from the front. Really need to do some extra detective work so you don't do extra labor chasing the wrong area. Carb? You have to get a bit deeper, those amount of turns won't cause the richness. Jetting? Float level too high? You have some possibilities that need to be double checked.
