Car Therapy
I just want to say thanks for this CHR forum, I have mentioned before in some of my post about my physical condition. I have been having a hard time these past couple of weeks with Vertigo {dizziness} plus a headache that hasn’t gone away for over two weeks it feels like it will explode anytime. This morning it was really getting to me, I look outside and the weather is finally getting better to the point that I could get outside. I checked the new post this morning and Matt 167 wrote about his idea of putting 55 Chevy taillights in his car, and asked if anyone had information about the size of the opening. Well it gave me an incentive to go to the garage which I had no plans of because of my problems. I said I would get some pictures for him of my car. It was like a shot in the arm so to speak of adrenalin, momentarily it took my mine off from my problems it didn’t take the symptoms away but it got me on my feet, and that is what I need to happen from time to time. I do more daydreaming of cars then actually working on them at this point in time, and that keeps me from going off the deep end more then anything else. I just want to say thanks to all of the car people out there, that you never know how you may up lift someone by this great forum..

Same thing happens to me but for different reasons. I suffer from anxiety disorder. I can not travel more than 15 miles away home in one direction and no more than 2 in the other. Some days i panic severally if i try to go out to my mail box. But as I read the threads posted and get ideas i can not resist going to my car and doing something with it. It gives my mind something to focus on other then eating itself alive. My car and this forum has allowed me to eat regulary and to sleep well at night. Than is a huge change from a year ago before I joined. You guys and this forum have saved me. I have been to 3 physchs, 4 docs and countless, useless meds. This is the only thing that seems to work. my family and I THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLE HERE THAT ARE SO WONDERFUL.BARB

I'm happy for you Barb that the site helps you, as I'm sure there are other people who use the site as a pick me up.

I use the site as a pick me up.. as just an example Now that I have the measurements of '55 chevy taillights, I can see what it will take to get them in there. was out there most of today scratching my head.. but without this site, I would not have even considered such a modification.. so I guess we all kinda help each other out on hereYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

I know where you're coming from Richard!!! If I listened to what my doctor and others say, I'd never even go out to the garage... I've named Tom's coupe "Therapy"!!!
Even if I'm out in the shop 5 hours and only manage to get an hour's worth of work done, at least I accomplished something!!!!

Sometimes just having somebody to banter back and forth with is good therapy.

My mom was the same way growing up Barb, kinda hard on her to raise me and my brother by herself as well. There's always a bright side though, over the years she has gotten over her agrophobia (spelling???), remarried, and now they travel all over the world. They're never home. It took a lot of time and baby steps and she still gets a bit of anxiety but she has learned to control it.
All the best to you guys,
Sean

Thank you so much Sean for your kind words and hope. I have had this 28 years now. I know that someday they will come up with the magic therapy to cure it.BARB
