My wife's coworker just paid her last mortgage payment! Wow what a great thing. You never hear that any more. Dave
Well said. So many are in such deep dept today. Some for no reasons of their own, just unemployment or health issues. Others because of the I got to have it now mentality. I am happy for you 55ranch wagon! Way to go!
I am moving slowly foward, saving a little from each paycheck, and using my economic incentive to buy stuff. I figure a couple of months at least before I have enough to pay for the engine in cash. But the good thing is it's paid for when it arrives!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I feel sorry for all of you who have mortgages in this current economic climate.
Some of us are fortunate to have lived in one house long enough to pay off it off. Believe me when that is off your shoulders it gives you the incentive to get rid of all the other debt you carry. Shirley and I haven't had a payment of any kind for several years and it is so refreshing. I have two sons each, with 4 kids, that are feeling the pains of debt. Reminds me of the day Henry David Thoreau was found in Walden' s pond up to his eyeballs in the water. When asked what he was doing he said he wanted to get a "..Frog's eye view of the world". We all know what it is like to be up to our eyeballs in debt. And I know that particular " frogs eye view" can be pretty disheartening. For all of you younger guys- hang in there and stay conservative your time will come.
